128GB Kingston DT200 from ebayer tor6900 certain to be fake

with 2 comments

It seems that ebay seller tor6900 bought these 128GB Kingston DataTraveler 200 USB flash drives from a fraudulent wholesale outlet. They are certain to be counterfeit and fake capacity – and a fake capacity flash drive corrupts files. It would not be possible to sell them at this price if they were genuine.

We advise everyone who buys flash memory items to test them with the free program h2testw irrespective of where they were purchased – otherwise you (or worse still, your customers) run the risk of data loss and corruption.

Report your fake if testing confirms you have purchased fake capacity flash memory on ebay.

  1. Ebay didn’t disable the auction by the look of things. Perhaps someone got the seller to check the drives and this seller did the decent thing?

It seems that the seller ended the listing early – the day the screenshot was taken by the look of it -without selling any.

  2. Not sure what happened here, for certain the seller seems to be what I refer to as a “Bitza” seller, or a “flog it all” and is not without some negatives. There does not seem to be any sign of the remaining 9 flash drives offered, the original is still visable, so I would assume the seller has had second thoughts and removed subsequent auctions, or ebay has disabled the auction as a result of the item report.
This is another seller that mixes open and PRIVATE auction as it suits them, the private ones in this case seem to have resulted in negative feedbacks. You must form your own conclusions here.
