This supposedly 128GB Kingston DataTraveler USB flash drive being auctioned on ebay (item number 260604048424) by akorel is counterfeit and fake capacity. It seems that the seller knows it as the buyer of the same drive (ebay item 260596974505) stated in feedback:

Seller confirmed its fake! Not original Kingston!

In both listings akorel says:

Unwanted gift

So if someone really gave this counterfeit and fake capacity flash drive which corrupts files to akorel as an unwanted gift (which we very much doubt) and the seller knows it – why try to pass fake flash misery on to someone else?

We wouldn’t trust this seller as far as any of us can spit!

We advise everyone who buys flash memory items to test them with the free program h2testw irrespective of where they were purchased – otherwise you run the risk of data loss and corruption.

Report your fake if testing confirms you have purchased fake capacity flash memory on ebay.

UPDATE 25/06/2010
