256GB USB flash drives listed on ebay by mydealdirect sure to be fake

leave a comment »

As we understand things it is not actually physically possible to fit enough memory chips to make a 128GB flash drive into one of these swivel types. Techinical issues aside – a genuine 256GB USB flash drive could not be sold on ebay this cheaply. Seller mydealdirect obviously got these from a fraudulent supplier. These USB flash drives will be fake capacity which corrupts files.

We advise everyone who buys flash memory items to test them with the free program h2testw irrespective of where they were purchased – otherwise you run the risk of data loss and corruption.

ebay Alert! saer_ding2080 another fake flash fraudster in China

leave a comment »

Beware! saer_ding2080 is yet another fake flash fraudster in China. This fraudster built up good feedback by selling cheap jewellery items on ebay before launching into fake flash memory sales. The USB flash drive shown in this listing is counterfeit, fake capacity and corrupts files. This sneaky fraudster is using a private sale for this so that when the inevitable negative feedback from buyers arrives no one can tell what the neg is about!

DO NOT BUY FLASH MEMORY ITEMS IN PRIVATE AUCTIONS OR SALES ON EBAY! You are almost certain to get a fake that trashes your files. Be sure to word any negative feedback you leave for this (or any other) fraudster carefully to warn others exactly what you are complaining about, for example you could use this, along with the advertised and real capacity:

pigleg_21 – another ebay ID from Singapore fake flash fraud gang

leave a comment »

This ebay listing shows yet another fake capacity 128GB USB flash drive that corrupts files sold by a fraud gang in Singapore. The ebay ID pigleg_21 is just another in a long series used by this gang to defraud the unwary. This is a very devious fraud gang – every time one ID is suspended by ebay another springs into action. These IDs are prepared in advance with false positive feedback from other gang members.

Very dodgy ebay auctions for 128GB flash drives from naturapark2005

leave a comment »

Seller naturapark2005 has a number of ebay auctions for 128GB flash drives with this very dodgy looking picture.

We think that what this ebayer is selling are counterfeit and fake capacity Kingston flash drives which corrupt files.

The seller actually seems to deny this is the case in the listings but we think that naturapark2005 is being a good deal less than honest as (despite the poor quality of the picture) it looks just like a Kingston DT200 to us.

A little digging shows that (though there is no feedback from the buyer) naturapark2005 sold this item on the 7th of May:

yongyuan_2010 lists obvious fake 64GB Sony flash drive on ebay

This 64GB Sony flash drive listed on ebay by yongyuan_2010 is counterfeit, fake capacity and corrupts files. It was not made by Sony (who don’t sell any above 16GB and none that look like this) and has a capacity nowhere near 64GB. Seller yongyuan_2010 (in Korea) makes a very clumsy attempt to make it appear as though the item comes from Ireland. This makes us think this seller is aware that these are fakes.

Are MP players from ebay seller narf_ana fake capacity? Test with h2testw!

with one comment

As we had a suspicion that the built-memory in MP players might well be fake capacity we decided to look into feedback for this seller to see what buyers had to say about them.

A feedback comment suggests that our suspicions that ebay seller narf_ana bought them from a fraudulent supplier in China may prove correct. If so the fake capacity memory will corrupt the user’s files. We suggest that anyone who bought any item that uses flash memory from this seller tests it immediately!

Did you buy flash memory on ebay from flash.sales80 or flashstore.710? Test with h2testw

Did you buy flash memory on ebay from flash.sales80 or flashstore.710? These sellers have been suspended by ebay and their listings have been removed so buyers will find that the item they bought has vanished from their won list. Both these IDs belong to a fraud gang in Singapore and any flash memory item sold by either of them is likely to be fake capacity, which corrupts files.

This model of Kingston USB flash drive is now discontinued and was never made in capacities above 32GB! Seller franciscogilescolar obviously bought from a fraudulent supplier without checking what is really available first. This ebayer has listings for this model not only at 128GB but at a fanatastic 512GB – a capacity that no manufacturer offers yet! This USB flash drive is counterfeit, fake capacity and corrupts files.

Beware fendou_yongge2010 another fake flash fraudster on ebay

This flash drive listed on ebay by fendou_yongge2010 (registered in China) is counterfeit, fake capacity and corrupts files. It costs more than this seller’s buy it now price to manufacture a 64GB USB flash drive let alone a 128GB one.

This is yet another case of deliberate fraud on ebay – maybe by the time you see this ebay will have suspended the seller and removed this listing (ebay item 290435652066) – if ebay suspends a seller they also remove listings (even though items have been sold) – so if you were foolish enough to buy from this seller, and ebay supended fendou_yongge2010 , you will find the item you bought has vanished from your won list.
