leave a comment »

We think ebayer suzyduke67 bought the Kingston DatatTraveler USB flash drives that are being auctioned on ebay from a fraudulent supplier. If we are right then this USB flash drive is counterfeit, fake capacity and corrupts files.

We advise everyone who buys flash memory items to test them with the free program h2testw irrespective of where they were purchased – otherwise you run the risk of data loss and corruption.

128GB Kingston USB flash drives from ebayer ssid2008 probably fake

leave a comment »

We are fairly certain that the 128GB Kingston DataTraveler 200 USB flash drives listed on ebay by ssid2008 are counterfeit and fake capacity. We think this ebay seller is yet another who bought from a fraudulent wholesale outlet. If we are right (and we are pretty sure we are) then this USB flash drive corrupts files. In the unlikely event that we are wrong, buyers will be able to verify serial numbers with Kingston.

We advise everyone who buys flash memory items to test them with the free program h2testw irrespective of where they were purchased – otherwise you run the risk of data loss and corruption.

ebayer saka2236 suspended by ebay for selling fake flash drives

Seller saka2236 (registered in Japan) has apparently been suspended by ebay for selling fake flash memory. If you bought from this seller your item will have vanished from your won list. Seller saka2236 listed the obvious fake 128GB flash drive shown on the left – a Kingston model that was never made in 128GB capacity. This seller no doubt bought these from a fraudulent supplier.

It looks as though the 128GB Kingston DataTraveler 200 USB flash drives listed on ebay by keeganipat (registered in the Phillipines) are being dropshipped by a supplier in Hong Kong. We are pretty certain they will turn out to be counterfeit and fake capacity. A fake capacity USB flash drive corrupts files.

ebayer toys_arme sells fake 128GB flash drives – test with h2testw

leave a comment »

Any USB flash drive you see with the name Vaio on it is a fake capacity flash drive manufactured by fraudsters in China and it corrupts files. Seller toys_arme obviously bought these from a fraudulent supplier. The seller says:

Note. Im testing every stick before shipping

If the seller does test with h2testw (rather than just plugging the flash drives in and looking at the properties which will show a false capacity) then he or she will discover the awful truth about these.

Kingston does not yet sell any 512GB USB flash drives, and nor does anyone else except fraudsters in China and anyone who was foolish enough to buy from one of these fraudulent sellers. This USB flash drive from ebayer emiliopopp is counterfeit, fake capacity and corrupts files. Our thanks to Philippe for alerting us to this listing.

Test flash drives from ebay seller mainplayer-com-hk with h2testw – fake!!

leave a comment »

If you bought a USB flash drive on ebay from seller mainplayer-com-hk test it immediately with h2testw – it is certain to be fake capacity, which corrupts files! We wonder if there is a connection between this ebay seller and the website in Hong Kong shown in the screenshot below, where flash memory items seem to be sold too cheaply for them to be genuine:
