The 128GB Kingston DataTraveler 200 USB flash drives in this ebay listing from ukangj22 are counterfeit, fake capacity and will corrupt your files.

At this price they couldn’t be anything else!! It costs far more than this Hong Kong based seller’s buy it now price to MANUFACTURE a 128GB USB flash drive!!

This ebay listing from jianmin56 is for counterfeit and fake capacity 128GB Kingston DataTraveler 200 USB flash drives which will corrupt users’ files – probably by the time they save less than 4GB of data to them.

We advise everyone who buys flash memory items to test them with the free program h2testw irrespective of where they were purchased – otherwise you run the risk of data loss and corruption.

Beware ebay seller digitsonic – test all flash memory with h2testw

leave a comment »

This USB flash drive sold on ebay by digitsonic is certain to be fake capacity and undoubtedly corrupts files. The use of private auctions for flash memory items listed by an ebay seller almost always indicates that the seller has something to hide. In this case we can state without doubt that this seller (registered in China) has already been proven to sell fake flash memory items on ebay which trash users’ data.

If you bought any flash memory item from digitsonic you are advised to test immediately with h2testw.

Beware ebayer dartslady10 sells fake flash memory! Test with h2testw

with 4 comments

An ebay member warned us a few days ago that we should watch ebay member dartslady10 and, sure enough, this ebayer is now selling fake flash drives! The buyer of item number 300427625972 (sold on May 21st) was either someone who didn’t test the drive with h2testw or this seller’s partner in crime as it was exactly the same obvious fake shown in the listing above.

We advise everyone who buys flash memory items to test them with the free program h2testw irrespective of where they were purchased – otherwise you run the risk of data loss and corruption.

UPDATE
By the way – dartslady10 is selling a computer complete with a lot of Windows software – we think it highly unlikely that the licences are genuine! We think dartslady10 is an out and out fraudster!

UPDATE 29/05/2010
We are fully expecting that dartslady10 (or this ebayer’s partner in crime) will try to sell the fake flash drive purchased from auboland on May 15th (shown in the listing below which dartslady10 left positive feedback about today) at some point if they think they can get away with it!!

UPDATE 8th June 2010
Seems that dartslady10 is still snapping up fake USB flash drives to sell either under this ID or that of the seller’s partner in crime – unfortunately we don’t currently have enough team members to fully investigate such minor criminal activity on ebay when there are major criminals like nsdpro (one of the fraudsters dartslady10 has bought from) to deal with.

leopardas24 lists very obvious fake USB flash drives on ebay

leave a comment »

This USB flash drive is a very obvious fake – any flash drive with a little shiny capacity sticker like the one in this picture is certain to be fake capacity and corrupts files.

Seller leopardas24 has listed a large number of these in ebay auctions. We have suspected for some time that flash drives sold by leopardas24 were fakes bought from a fraudulent supplier, now we are absolutely certain.

We advise everyone who buys flash memory items to test them with the free program h2testw irrespective of where they were purchased – otherwise you run the risk of data loss and corruption.

black.jacket sells fake flash drives on ebay – test with h2testw!

This USB flash drive listed by Singapore based fraudster black.jacket is undoubtedly fake capacity and corrupts files. The ebay ID black.jacket belongs to a fraud gang we have been watching for some time. jihufuandd1 sells fake flash drives on ebay; test with h2testw immediately

leave a comment »

The flash drive in this ebay listing has nothing to do with Sony – it was manufactured by fraudsters who (like the seller, jihufuandd1) are based in China. Sony do not sell 128GB flash drives! This USB flash drive is fake capacity and corrupts files.

We advise everyone who buys flash memory items to test them with the free program h2testw irrespective of where they were purchased – otherwise you run the risk of data loss and corruption.

flash drive seller usbsaving changes ebay ID to goforless2010

leave a comment »

We first reported our suspicions about the flash drive shown in the ebay listing above (which we are sure is fake capacity and corrupts files) and the seller (registered in Canada but dropshipping from Hong Kong) on May 3rd. At that time the seller’s ID was not goforless2010 but usbsaving. The ID was changed on May 19th – is there a connection between our warning and the change of ID we wonder?

You can see the original post here. This is not the first ID change – the seller’s original ID was bestdealsmall – kind of suggests that this seller has something to hide don’t you think?

We suspect that ebayer tomtomsstore bought fake flash from China

leave a comment »

We have a feeling that ebay seller tomtomsstore (who registered on ebay Ireland on 23rd April 2010 and does not yet have any feedback) has made the big mistake of buying flash memory items from fraudulent suppliers in China. We have not yet found a flash drive of the type shown in this listing that genuinely had the advertised capacity. This model has always proved to be a fake capacity USB flash drive that corrupts files once the true capacity is reached.

All flash drives of this model that we have tested with h2testw (whether sold as 4GB, 16GB or higher capacities) proved to have a capacity lower than that advertised, and usually less than 4GB. Hopefully there will not be any buyers before this new seller realises they may be fake, withdraws this (and other flash memory items) from sale and tests with h2testw!

We advise everyone who buys flash memory items to test them with the free program h2testw irrespective of where they were purchased – otherwise you (or worse still, your customers) run the risk of data loss and corruption.

128GB DT200 flash drives from ebayer leachey-2009 seem a bit cheap

leave a comment »

The 128GB Kingston DataTraveler 200 USB flash drives in this ebay listing are a bit on the cheap side which makes us wonder if seller leachey-2009 bought from a fraudulent supplier. If these are genuine then they will all have individual serial numbers which buyers can use to verify genuine drives with Kingston. If the USB flash drives cannot be verified with Kingston then they will be counterfeit and fake capacity, which corrupts files.

We advise everyone who buys flash memory items to test them with the free program h2testw irrespective of where they were purchased – otherwise you run the risk of data loss and corruption.

Is 128GB Kingston DT200 from ebayer jujubug613 genuine or fake?

leave a comment »

If the 128GB Kingston DataTraveler 200 USB flash drives being auctioned on ebay by jujubug613 are genuine this seller is taking a big risk by listing them at auction and could make a hefty loss on sales. We are inclined to think that they are more likely to be counterfeit and fake capacity flash drives which will corrupt files. If they are genuine they will have individual serial numbers which can be used to verify the drives with Kingston.

We advise everyone who buys flash memory items to test them with the free program h2testw irrespective of where they were purchased – otherwise you run the risk of data loss and corruption.

ebayer mariano8148 lists suspected fake 64GB Kingston flash drive

leave a comment »

We would like to thank Stefano for alerting us to the possibility that mariano8148 is probably a seller of fake flash memory items. He reported a couple of days ago that a flash drive listed on ebay by mariano8148 was likely to be a fake, but at that point there were no listings visable for the seller.

We think the original listing was probably for this 64GB Kingston DataTraveler 200 USB flash drive and that ebay may have removed the listing on the grounds that it was likely to be counterfeit. Stefano also suspected that this was a new ID for monstershop3000 – a seller we reported suspicions about over a month ago, whose account was later suspended by ebay and listings removed.

We’d strongly advise people not to bid on this item!! It is very unlikely indeed to be genuine – far more likely to be a fake capacity flash drive that corrupts files. We advise everyone who buys flash memory items to test them with the free program h2testw irrespective of where they were purchased – otherwise you run the risk of data loss and corruption.
