ebayer mariano8148 lists suspected fake 64GB Kingston flash drive
We would like to thank Stefano for alerting us to the possibility that mariano8148 is probably a seller of fake flash memory items. He reported a couple of days ago that a flash drive listed on ebay by mariano8148 was likely to be a fake, but at that point there were no listings visable for the seller.
We think the original listing was probably for this 64GB Kingston DataTraveler 200 USB flash drive and that ebay may have removed the listing on the grounds that it was likely to be counterfeit. Stefano also suspected that this was a new ID for monstershop3000 – a seller we reported suspicions about over a month ago, whose account was later suspended by ebay and listings removed.
We’d strongly advise people not to bid on this item!! It is very unlikely indeed to be genuine – far more likely to be a fake capacity flash drive that corrupts files. We advise everyone who buys flash memory items to test them with the free program h2testw irrespective of where they were purchased – otherwise you run the risk of data loss and corruption.
Report your fake if testing confirms you have purchased fake capacity flash memory on ebay.
