Kingston flash drives from ebayer wando11 unlikely to be genuine
We think it highly unlikely that this 128GB Kingston DataTraveler 200 USB flash drive listed on ebay by wando11 is genuine. If we are wrong then the buyer will be able to verify the serial number with Kingston. The same goes for the 256GB DT310 from this seller.
We advise everyone who buys flash memory items to test them with the free program h2testw irrespective of where they were purchased – otherwise you run the risk of data loss and corruption.
Report your fake if testing confirms you have purchased fake capacity flash memory on ebay.
UPDATE 07/06/2010
There is also a 256GB Kingston flash drive listed by this seller doesn’t even look like anything sold by Kingston as their swivel model, which only goes up to 16gb, doesn’t look quite like this.
Don’t waste your time buying the 256GB – we didn’t actually see the 256GB listing you are talking about, the one we mentioned was for a DT310 which it seems someone has bought.
Now that we have looked at the listing you saw we can tell you that it doesn’t really look like anything sold by Kingston let alone the 256GB model, so just reporting this to ebay should be enough to get it removed.

I think you are correct about that, he currently has listed a 256gb flash drive that looks more like a 1gb

I am definitely considering buying his 128gb flash drive and just reporting it to eBay if it’s fake for a refund.
