ebayer wuli_everything lists fake 32GB USB flash drive on ebay

leave a comment »

We are certain this (supposedly) 32GB USB flash drive listed on ebay by wuli_everything is fake capacity and corrupts files. We are sure it was purchased on May 15th from auboland, a known fraudulent seller in Hong Kong, for the princely sum of AU $13.22. If you are interested in checking for yourself then see ebay item number 180507214050.

It looks like wuli_everything thinks you can easily buy up cheap items on ebay and re-sell them at a profit. Occasionally this is possible with some types of item (such as designer jewellery) if you have expertise in the field in question – USB flash drives are not one of the things you can usually do this with!

Would we buy anything on ebay from wuli_everything? We sure wouldn’t, mate! We advise everyone who buys flash memory items to test them with the free program h2testw irrespective of where they were purchased – otherwise you run the risk of data loss and corruption.

Beware flash drives on ebay from sgf1.race – test with h2test now!!

The ebay ID sgf1.race belongs to a devious fraud gang in Singapore that we have been watching for some time. This USB flash drive (and any other flash memory from this seller) will be fake capacity, which corrupts files once the true capacity (normally less than 4GB) is exceeded.

We advise everyone who buys flash memory items to test them with the free program h2testw irrespective of where they were purchased – otherwise you run the risk of data loss and corruption.

Test flash drives from ebay seller its-dirt-cheap with h2testw: fake

The ebay ID its-dirt-cheap seems to be yet another belonging to a fake flash fraud gang in Singapore that we have been watching for some time. The model of USB flash drive shown in the listing above has always proved to have a fake capacity in tests carried out by members of our team. A USB flash drive that has been programmed to show a false capacity always corrupts files.

We advise everyone who buys flash memory items to test them with the free program h2testw irrespective of where they were purchased – otherwise you run the risk of data loss and corruption.

xuxiangchao8810 lists obvious fake 64GB flash drives on ebay

leave a comment »

This 64GB USB flash drive listed on ebay by xuxiangchao8810 is fake fake fakity fake! Nothing to do with Sony, does not have a capacity anywhere near 64GB and if you were daft enough to buy one it will trash your files once the real capacity (probably no more than 4GB at most) is exceeded by the size of the files you try to save to it. This is a fake capacity flash drive that corrupts files – guarenteed.

You cannot possibly buy a genuine 64GB USB flash drive at this price – in fact you’d be extremely unlikely to get a reliable one of 8GB or over on ebay at the buy it now price shown in this listing! We advise everyone who buys flash memory items to test them with the free program h2testw irrespective of where they were purchased – otherwise you run the risk of data loss and corruption.

128GB Kingston flash drive from ebayer afantech sure to be counterfeit

with one comment

We are certain that this 128GB Kingston DataTraveler 200 listed on ebay by afantech is counterfeit, fake capacity, and corrupts files. In the very unlikely event that it is genuine the buyer will be able to confirm this with Kingston by giving them the serial number. However, we don’t think so – in fact we’d all fall down in a faint if this happened!

We think it extremely unlikely that this 128GB Kingston DataTraveler 200 USB flash drive from ebayer woetjewooot is genuine. We are fairly sure that this USB flash drive is counterfeit, fake capacity, and corrupts files. If we are wrong (which we doubt) then the buyer will be able to verify the serial number of this flash drive with Kingston.

snapperhound sells suspect DT200 USB flash drives on ebay

The 128GB Kingston DataTraveler 200 USB flash drives in this ebay listing from snapperhound are too cheap to be genuine. We assume this ebayer made the mistake of buying from one of the many fraudulent wholesale outlets in China which sell counterfeit and fake capacity flash drives which corrupt files.
