64GB DT200 flash drive from ebayer theresac28 may be fake

Seller theresac28 states that the 64GB Kingston DataTraveler 200 USB flash drive in this ebay auction was an unwanted gift. Quite a number of ebayers who have auctioned counterfeit and fake capacity flash drives on ebay have made this claim.

It seems extremely unlikely that anyone would give something this expensive as a gift unless they were pretty certain that the recipient would welcome it. The cheapest ones that we’ve found that we are fairly sure are genuine are selling at around £100. Would you spend £100 on a gift for someone if you were not sure they would want it? We may be wrong, but we suspect that this may well be a counterfeit and fake capacity flash drive which corrupts files.

We advise everyone who buys flash memory items to test them with the free program h2testw irrespective of where they were purchased – otherwise you run the risk of data loss and corruption.

Report your fake if testing confirms you have purchased fake capacity flash memory on ebay.
