128GB DT200 in ebay auctions from reinavbtu271 sure to be fake

leave a comment »

It is pretty certain that the 128GB Kingston DataTraveler 200 USB flash drives listed at auction on ebay by reinavbtu271 are fake capacity counterfeits. A fake capacity flash drive corrupts files.

We advise everyone who buys flash memory items to test them with the free program h2testw irrespective of where they were purchased – otherwise you run the risk of data loss and corruption.

128GB DT200 flash drive from ebay seller hobba66 surely fake

leave a comment »

We are certain that the 128GB Kingston DataTraveler 200 USB flash drive (pictured on the left) listed at auction by hobba66 (ebay item 140418836001) is a fake capacity counterfeit that corrupts files.

We have a feeling that this may have been purchased on ebay from a de-registered seller – someone suspended by ebay for selling fakes.

Genuine Kingston DataTravelr 200 flash drives all have individual serial numbers which can be used to verify the drive is genuine by registering the serial number with Kingston. We don’t think they will verify this one.

We advise everyone who buys flash memory items to test them with the free program h2testw irrespective of where they were purchased – otherwise you run the risk of data loss and corruption.

ebayer tregvxliang suspended for selling fake DT200 flash drives

leave a comment »

Suspended ebay seller tregvxliang (registered in Korea) sold a number of counterfeit 128GB Kingston DataTraveler 200 USB flash drives at the rediculously low cost shown in the sold list above (below the cost of the flash chips!) before ebay suspended the seller and removed the listings. If you bought from this seller the item will have vanished from your won list.

256GB DT310 in ebay auction from goldix711 probable counterfeit

leave a comment »

It is extremely unlikely that this 256GB Kingston DataTraveler 310 USB flash drive listed at auction on ebay by goldix711 is genuine. It fairly certain to be a fake capacity counterfeit that corrupts files. In the extremely unlikely event that we are wrong then goldix711 will probably make a massive loss on the sale and the buyer will be able to confirm the drive is genuine by verifying the serial number with Kingston. Somehow we don’t think so!

32GB Transcend flash drive from ebayer bizzeduk looks like a fake

leave a comment »

The model of Transcend flash drive shown in this ebay listing from bizzeduk does not seem to be made in capacities above 16GB so we conclude that this is yet another ebay listing for a fake capacity counterfeit that corrups files. The seller no doubt bought from one of the fraudulent wholesale outlets in China.

fake 256GB Sony flash drive from ebayer danzel32 corrupts files

leave a comment »

Seller danzel32 is quite right to suspect that the supposedly 256GB USB flash drive in this ebay listing is not a genuine Sony Micro Vault. Not only is it not a genuine Sony but it does not have a real capacity of 256GB, despite what the computer’s operating system shows.

This is a fake capacity counterfeit that corrupts files, manufactured by fraudsters in China who program small capacity flash drives (usually 4GB or less) to show a much higher capacity than they really have. Once the real capacity is full files get lost and corrupted because there is nowhere for them to go.

We advise everyone who buys flash memory items to test them with the free program h2testw irrespective of where they were purchased – otherwise you run the risk of data loss and corruption.

terrasivas sold suspect 64GB flash drives on ebay, test with h2testw

We are fairly sure the 64GB USB flash drives sold on ebay by terrasivas will turn out to be fake capacity and a fake capacity flash drive corrupts files once the real capacity (usually 4GB at most) has been filled.

We are fairly certain that this 16GB Kingston DataTraveler USB flash drive sold on ebay by henda-land is a fake capacity counterfeit that corrupts files. We think that all flash drives from seller will be fake capacity and will, as a result, trash users’ data once the real capacity (probably under 4GB) is filled with files.
