ebay fake flash seller utelx554 (in China) takes cautious approach

leave a comment »

Seller utelx554 seems to be taking a cautious approach to sales of fake capacity counterfeit 128GB Kingston DataTraveler USB flash drives. So far utelx554 seems to have sold 14 of these in three separate listings with 5 flash drives offered in each listing: 130401058872 (5 sold) 130401058595 (5 sold) 130401058425 (4 sold) and does not seem to have listed anything for sale since.

If you are one of the buyers then be warned – although the flash drive will appear to have the advertised capacity when you plug it into your computer this is not the truth. These counterfeits are programmed to display a false capacity – the real capacity is normally a maximum of 4GB and once the real capacity is full you will find the drive corrupts your files.

We advise everyone who buys flash memory items to test them with the free program h2testw irrespective of where they were purchased – otherwise you run the risk of data loss and corruption.

Report your fake if testing confirms you have purchased fake capacity flash memory on ebay.
