if 256GB Kingston flash drive is genuine ebayer davidh7402010 made a loss

leave a comment »

If the 256GB Kingston DataTraveler 300 sold in this ebay listing from davidh7402010 is genuine then the seller made a loss by selling it at auction. Genuine flash drives of this type have individual serial numbers which can be used to verify the drive with Kingston. If the drive cannot be verified then it will be a fake capacity counterfeit which corrupts files.

We advise everyone who buys flash memory items to test them with the free program h2testw irrespective of where they were purchased – otherwise you run the risk of data loss and corruption.

test flash drives from ebayer rudeen-m with h2testw immediately

We think this Kingston DataTraveler listed on ebay by rudeen-m is likely to be a fake capacity counterfeit as this ebayer already sold an obvious fake Sony and other Kingston flash drives we suspect are also counterfeit. It looks very much as though this seller bought from a fraudulent supplier.

We advise everyone who buys flash memory items to test them with the free program h2testw irrespective of where they were purchased – otherwise you run the risk of data loss and corruption.

thi1166 auctions range of flash drives on ebay, we think all are fake

leave a comment »

Seller thi1166 has auctions range of flash drives on ebay, all with a start price of one Euro. The one in this listing is being sold as defective, as are a number of others. This flash drive is not defective it is a fake capacity counterfeit that corrupts files. We think all (Kingston flash drives, Corsair flash drives, this fake Sony and a familiar fake capacity generic model) were bought from a fraudulent supplier in China.

We advise everyone who buys flash memory items to test them with the free program h2testw irrespective of where they were purchased – otherwise you run the risk of data loss and corruption.

fake flash fraudster xiajingjing7110 suspended by ebay

If you bought this flash drive sold in ebay listing number 27060020617 by suspended seller xiajingjing7110 then the item will have vanished from your won list as a result of the suspension. This USB flash drive is a fake capacity counterfeit that corrupts files. It seems that ebay may have woken up and smelt the coffee as they seem to be removing listings for obvious fake flash drives faster than we have ever known.

We advise everyone who buys flash memory items to test them with the free program h2testw irrespective of where they were purchased – otherwise you run the risk of data loss and corruption.

Test flash drives from ebayer mixmasala19 with h2testw immediately

leave a comment »

We first reported our suspicions about another model of flash drive sold by mixmasala19 on ebay back in November 2009. Feedback from buyers suggests that we are right in thinking that the USB flash drives from this seller are fakes. A fake capacity flash drive corrupts files once the real (much smaller than advertised) capacity is full as there is nowhere left for files to go. Do not be fooled by what you see in drive properties – fakes are programmed to report a false capacity to the operating system.

We advise everyone who buys flash memory items to test them with the free program h2testw irrespective of where they were purchased – otherwise you run the risk of data loss and corruption.

mengsuqin8810 lists counterfeit 256GB DT310 flash drives on ebay

leave a comment »

The 256GB Kingston DataTraveler 310 flash drives in this ebay listing from mengsuqin8810 are fake capacity counterfeits – at this price they simply couldn’t be anything else! A fake capacity USB flash drive corrupts files.

By the time you read this the listing may have vanished from ebay (and therefore buyers’ won lists) because ebay suspends the seller, as they are now suspending sellers with no feedback who list obvious counterfeit Kingston flash drives much faster than they have ever done before. They are not, however, suspending sellers with positive feedback who sell other items which they can still make a profit from!

We advise everyone who buys flash memory items to test them with the free program h2testw irrespective of where they were purchased – otherwise you run the risk of data loss and corruption.

64GB flash drives listed on ebay by weijunren4510 will trash files

Although the supposedly 64GB flash drive pictured in this ebay listing from weijunren4510 has Sony’s name on it the company does not sell any flash drives like this. The flash drive in this listing is a fake capacity counterfeit that corrupts files.

panliangyan8810 lists counterfeit Kingston on ebay as faulty

leave a comment »

The USB flash drives in this ebay listing from panliangyan8810 are not faulty – they are deliberately created fake capacity counterfeits manufactured by fraudsters in China. Genuine 128GB Kingston DataTraveler 200 flash drives all have individual serial numbers that can be used to verify the drive with Kingston.

These are not genuine Kingston so they cannot be verified. Anyone who bought one of these will find it corrupts their files because (although the operating system reports the advertised capacity or something near to it) the real capacity is normally 4GB or less, so once this has been filled there is nowhere for files to go. Buyers would be far better off buying a genuine 4GB USB flash drive elsewhere than a fake on ebay!

We advise everyone who buys flash memory items to test them with the free program h2testw irrespective of where they were purchased – otherwise you run the risk of data loss and corruption.

ebayers finally catch up with fake flash fraudster fan.nanny?

leave a comment »

Seller fan.nanny first sold flash drives on ebay back in October 2009 and we reported our suspicions about this seller back in November 2009 when this seller was still new to ebay – back then we used a gremlin picture to represent a suspected new fraudster. It seems that not a single buyer noticed in all this time (until now) that there was a problem with the seller’s flash drives as no one left a neg on ebay about them being fake or reported in to sosfakeflashdrive with test results from h2testw.

The seller does not have any current listings but suddenly someone has searched the Internet for this seller. We still think the flash drives from this seller were probably fake capacity – which corrupts files. If you bought a flash drive from fan.nanny or any other seller on ebay from the far east or got it at a “bargain” price (wherever the seller is) the chances are that you bought a fake capacity flash drive that corrupts files.

We advise everyone who buys flash memory items to test them with the free program h2testw irrespective of where they were purchased – otherwise you run the risk of data loss and corruption.

nova*gmbh lists DT200 flash drives on ebay in non-existent sizes!

Seller nova*gmbh has listed Kingston DataTraveler 200 flash drives on ebay in capacities that simply do not exist. This flash drive is not produced in 8GB, 16GB or 256GB capacities so this ebayer obviously bought from a fraudulent supplier. All the Kingston flash drives from this seller will be fake capacity counterfeits and a fake capacity flash drive corrupts files.

The supposedly 128GB Kingston DataTraveler 200 flash drive in this ebay listing from karamanoglu70 is a fake capacity counterfeit which corrupts files. Apart from anything else it is blue (though you can’t see this clearly in the poor photo) and the genuine 128GB DT200 is not blue.

Did you buy a Sony Vaio flash drive on ebay from vfhd-6730?

leave a comment »

There is no such thing as a genuine Sony Vaio flash drive – they are fake capacity counterfeits manufactured by fraudsters in China. It appears that vfhd-6730 (registered guess where?) sold a number of these in two ebay listings: item number 220628639965 and item number 220628954378. If you bought one of these – beware! This USB flash drive corrupts files.

This seller had no current listings when we last checked. The feedback we have seen so far for vfhd-6730 looks very dodgy indeed – it all seems to have come from “buyers” in China who are keeping their feedback private. This seller is one to avoid like the plague in our book!

32GB flash drive listed on ebay by zhuangwuxiao probably fake

We have a feeling that the USB flash drives in this ebay listing from zhuangwuxiao will turn out to be fake capacity – nowhere near the 32GB capacity advertised, though that is what will show in the drive properties. A fake capacity USB flash drive corrupts files.

If this 128GB Kingston DataTraveler 200 USB flash drive listed on ebay by juliabuysell is genuine then the seller is likely to make a loss by auctioning it. Genuine Kingston flash drives of this type have individual serial numbers which can be used to verify the drive as genuine with Kingston. If this flash drive cannot be verified with Kingston then it will no doubt be yet another fake capacity counterfeit.
