ebay alert! beware Singapore fake flash fraudster battery.shop71

leave a comment »

The flash drive sold by battery.shop71 in this ebay listing is a very well known fake capacity flash drive that corrupts files. The seller is part of a Singapore based fraud gang We have never come across one with a real capacity over 4GB – so someone bought themselves a flash drive that will trash their files once the real capacity is filled with files. The buyer would have been able to buy at least 4 genuine high quality 4GB flash drives for the price!

We advise everyone who buys flash memory items to test them with the free program h2testw irrespective of where they were purchased – otherwise you run the risk of data loss and corruption.

flash drives and memory cards from ebayer claudioana sure to be fake

leave a comment »

We are certain that this USB flash drive listed on ebay by claudioana will have nowhere near the advertised 32GB capacity. We think this is a fake capacity flash drive purchased on ebay from a fraudulent seller in the far east. Why do we think this? Because ebay seller claudioana bought items from a number of proven and supected ebay sellers of fake flash memory items and seems to be re-selling them.

The suspect and known fake flash fraudsters claudioana bought items from include newest_product, flashworld777, crystalpalace1987, inaltd (suspended by ebay), yaocard (another suspended eBay fake memory seller, who also used the ebay ID yaonice), genuineness2009 (also suspended) and johnsonmall (suspended) – we conclude that all flash memory items (flash drives, memory cards etc) from claudioana will be fakes that corrupt files.

is 32GB Kingston from ebayer shrede02 genuine or counterfeit?

leave a comment »

As it looks rather as though ebayer shrede02 made a loss on the previous 32GB Kingston DataTraveler flash drive auctioned on ebay (if it was genuine, that is) we are a little surprised to see the seller take the risk of a second loss by auctioning another one. Genuine Kingston flash drives of this type all have individual serial numbers that can be used to verify the drive with the company. If the drive can not be verified then it will be a fake capacity counterfeit that corrupts files.
