Test flash drives from ebayer alandollen09 with h2testw NOW!!

leave a comment »

It seems that ebay seller alandollen09 bought the 4GB flash drives sold on ebay from a fraudulent supplier. Any flash drive that came in the packaging shown on the left, or that had little shiny capacity stickers (also shown in the pictures) that were tested by members of our team proved to be fake capacity.

A fake capacity flash drive corrupts files.

It would seem that all flash memory items from this seller will be fakes that corrupt files as they probably all came from the same supplier.

We advise everyone who buys flash memory items to test them with the free program h2testw irrespective of where they were purchased – otherwise you run the risk of data loss and corruption.

Report your fake if testing confirms you have purchased fake capacity flash memory on ebay.

bought Kingston flash drives on ebay from georgiabarry15? Check serial numbers with Kingston!

leave a comment »

If the 128GB Kingston DataTraveler 200 flash drive sold by georgiabarry15 in the ebay listing shown above is genuine then this seller made a loss and the buyer got a fantastic bargain. The buyer should check the serial number with Kingston to ensure that the drive is genuine – we have a feeling that Kingston won’t verify the serial number.

If we are right about Kingston not verifying the serial number this means it is a fake capacity counterfeit which corrupts files – probably after around 4gb of files have been saved. We suspect the same applies to the 256GB Kingston Datatraveler 310 flash drives in the ebay listing below from georgiabarry15:

We advise everyone who buys flash memory items to test them with the free program h2testw irrespective of where they were purchased – otherwise you run the risk of data loss and corruption.

suspect ebay charity listings for flash drives from 99pcornershop

leave a comment »

We suspect that the 256GB Kingston DataTraveler 310 flash drives in the listing above (ebay item number 280529583925) and the 32GB Kingston DataTraveler 150 (ebay listing number 280530019305) being auctioned for charity with a 10% donation to Great Ormond Street children’s hospital by 99pcornershop are fake capacity counterfeits which corrupt files.

The fact that all this seller’s auctions are private seems a little odd to us – if you are helping such a good cause as GT Ormond St what have you got to hide?? After all it’s not as if 99pcornershop is selling gimp masks, Viagra, naughty undies, cars, houses or anything else we might expect to be private!

We advise everyone who buys flash memory items to test them with the free program h2testw irrespective of where they were purchased – otherwise you run the risk of data loss and corruption.
