fake 128GB Sony Vaio flash drives sold on ebay by za1ntc

The flash drives sold by za1ntc in this ebay listing are fakes that corrupt files. Nothing to do with Sony and nowhere near 128GB capacity. There is no such thing as a genuine Sony Vaio flash drive – all are manufactured by fraudsters in China. This ebayer has been shopping in fake flash land.

If you buy one of these you will get a fake capacity counterfeit that corrupts files (once you have saved around 3.6GB to it, if not less) though the drive properties will no doubt show something close to the advertised capacity due to fraudulent programming of the control chip.

Although za1ntc had no negative feedback for them the 128GB Kingston DataTraveler 200 flash drives previously sold (until ebay removed listings) were also fake capacity counterfeits which corrupt files. We wrote about these at the end of May. Seems we were wasting our time!

We advise everyone who buys flash memory items to test them with the free program h2testw irrespective of where they were purchased – otherwise you run the risk of data loss and corruption.

Report your fake if testing confirms you have purchased fake capacity flash memory on ebay.
