walkin-7282 a member of ebay fake flash fraud gang in Singapore

leave a comment »

Seller walkin-7282 is a member of a fraud gang in Singapore we have had our eye on for months that sells fake flash drives on ebay. The model in this listing is a favourite with this devious bunch of ebay scammers. This supposedly 128GB flash drive is fake capacity and corrupts files once the real capacity (probably less than 4GB) has been filled with files. As soon as one ID used by this gang is suspended by ebay another pops up to replace it.

We advise everyone who buys flash memory items to test them with the free program h2testw irrespective of where they were purchased – otherwise you run the risk of data loss and corruption.

fake 256GB Kingston flash drives listed on ebay by draymarketing2010

leave a comment »

Seller draymarketing2010 has listed very obvious fake 256GB Kingston flash drives on ebay. As Axel points out the DataTraveler 200 is not made in 256GB capacity, only 32GB (blue) 64GB (yellow) and 128GB (black) – there is no 256GB model. This flash drive is a fake capacity counterfeit that corrupts files.

This seller obviously bought from a fraudulent supplier in China. You’d think ebay would have spotted such an obvious fake straight away, wouldn’t you?

256GB DT310 flash drives from ebayer diamous seem a bit cheap

leave a comment »

The price for these 256GB Kingston DataTraveler 310 flash drives from ebayer diamous seems a little low which makes us wonder whether this seller bought from a fraudulent supplier. If they did come from a fraudulent wholesale outlet the flash drives will be fake capacity counterfeits which corrupt files. If they are genuine buyers will be able to confirm this by verifying the serial number of their flash drive with Kingston.

If 128GB DT200 flash drives on ebay are genuine oak139jv likely to make a loss

leave a comment »

If the 128GB Kingston DataTraveler 200 flash drives being auctioned on ebay by oak139jv are genuine buyers will be able to confirm this by verifying the serial number of the drive with Kingston. We think it is unlikely that they are genuine as the seller risks making a big loss on sales if they are. We think it much more likely that they are fake capacity counterfeits purchased from a fraudulent wholesaler. A fake capacity USB flash drive corrupts files.

64GB flash drives sold on ebay by rawinna8trd may be fakes

with 4 comments

If the 64GB Corsair flash drive sold in this ebay listing from rawinna8trd is genuine then this seller made a loss by auctioning it. This seller also listed a 64GB Kingston DataTraveler and a 64GB Patriot Xporter Magnum. This seems rather odd to us.

Maybe they are genuine and this ebayer (who seems to be new to selling) is auctioning a few drives at a loss in order to get positive feedback about them being genuine. The seller says in listings:

New condition (No copy). I will give you 1 months to use item and if it is defected within 1 month, I will refund (you return me the item).

64GB Kingston flash drive from ebayer saynoz likely counterfeit

The buy it now price for this 64GB Kingston DataTraveler 200 flash drive is rather on the low side which makes us suspect that saynoz got these from a fraudulent supplier. If we are right then this USB flash drive is a fake capacity counterfeit. If we are wrong the buyer will be able to confirm it is genuine by verifying the serial number with Kingston.

if 32GB Sandisk flash drives are genuine ebayer cousins7430 may make loss on sales

leave a comment »

if the 32GB Sandisk flash drives listed at auction on ebay by cousins7430 are genuine then this seller risks making a loss by auctioning them. It looks as though the seller might have just about broken even so far on sales of 16GB drives at auction, so maybe we just have a lucky seller here.

We advise everyone who buys flash memory items to test them with the free program h2testw irrespective of where they were purchased – otherwise you run the risk of data loss and corruption as there is more fake capacity flash memory that corrupt files than genuine stuff sold, especially on the Internet.
