Beware ebay buyers! Seller sg*hotchilli is yet another member of an ebay fraud gang in Singapore that we have been watching for some time. The flash drive in this ebay listing will not have the claimed 128GB capacity. It is fake capacity and corrupts files.

We advise everyone who buys flash memory items to test them with the free program h2testw irrespective of where they were purchased – otherwise you run the risk of data loss and corruption.

Report your fake if testing confirms you have purchased fake capacity flash memory on ebay.

ebay alert: beware devious fake flash seller lfgsgert – do not buy!

This flash drive listed by devious fake flash fraudster lfgsgert is fake capacity and corrupts files. There are three glaringly obvious lies visible in our screenshot of this ebay listing:

  1. The claim to be a seller in the US
  2. The claim that the item is in the UK
  3. The claim that this fake has a 2 year warranty.

The seller is registered in China, the item is in China and there is no warranty – though we can gaurantee it is a fake! Do not buy this flash drive from lfgsgert – or anyone else selling this leather and steel type – it is a notorious fake.

128GB DT200 flash drives from ebayer profiseller4you surely fake

If this 128GB Kingston DataTraveler 200 flash drive is genuine then seller profiseller4you made a loss by auctioning it on ebay. The buyer is advised to check the serial number with Kingston; if the drive is genuine then Kingston will be able to verify it, if not this USB flash drive is a fake capacity counterfeit and the same will apply to others listed at auction by this seller. We think it much more likely that the buyer bought from a fraudulent supplier than it is that these are genuine.
