ebay alert: chiwangshengfandian is another fake flash seller

leave a comment »

This 64GB flash drive listed on ebay by chiwangshengfandian is fake capacity and corrupts files – it is too cheap to be a genuine 64GB flash drive. The same goes for the other model from this seller; the familiar leather and steel fake. This devious seller in China falsely gives the location as the United States instead of China in the hopes of making the fact that listings are fraudulent less obvious.

private ebay auction for fake Sony Vaio flash drive from reproduce345

leave a comment »

There is no such thing as a genuine Sony Vaio flash drive – they are all fake capacity counterfiets which will trash your files. Seller reproduce345 is using a private ebay auction to sell this fake flash drive that corrupts files – this is a way of hiding what any customers who leave negative feedback are talking about.

Always research what is really available before buying flash memory items (USB flash drives, memory cards, MP players etc) as there are a huge number of counterfeits produced in China. It is often easy to spot counterfeits (copies of brand name items or items that carry a brand name but don’t even exist in the brand’s range) once you are familiar with what is really available.

Check out the web sites of companies such as Kingston, Sony, Corsair, Transcend etc. These web sites will show what models are available in which capacities and (where colour coding is used) which colour is which capacity.

ebay alert: beware of Singapore fake flash seller 64.window.7

leave a comment »

Seller 64.window.7 is a very bold ebay fraudster (a member of the devious sinjapan gang which we have been watching for many months) – you are invited to throw AU $399.90 down the toilet by using buy it now to purchase this notorious fake capacity flash drive that corrupts files!

Needless to say this seller has a chunk of fake positive feedback and is using a private auction so that if the buyer leaves negtive feedback no one will know what the feedback is about.

perthtruckie lists obvious counterfeit 256GB Kingston on ebay

leave a comment »

This Kingston flash drive listed on ebay by perthtruckie is a fake capacity counterfeit that corrupts files. If it was a genuine DataTraveler 200 it would be the 32GB model as these are colour coded (blue is 32GB, yellow 64GB and black 128GB) – there is NO 256GB Kingston DataTraveler 200. The highest capacity this model is available in is 128GB. Anyone can check this out by looking at the Kingston web site. Shame perthtruckie didn’t do so – or perhaps chose to ignore the fact that he (or she?) is selling obvious fakes?

Test flash memory purchased on ebay from usa_etrade with h2testw

leave a comment »

Seller usa_etrade previously auctioned a number of 16GB Kingston DataTraveler G2 flash drives on ebay and must have made a loss if they were genuine. This has not deterred the seller from listing this 64GB Kingston DataTraveler 200 with a 99p start. This makes us suspect that the flash drives sold by usa_etrade could be fake capacity counterfeits purchased from a fraudulent supplier.

Although there is no mention of Kingston in this ebay listing from hvudragon what is shown in the picture is the 128GB Kingston DataTraveler 200 – one of the most common counterfeit and fake capacity flash drives sold on ebay during the last few months. The seller says in the listing:

This is a black 128 gb flash drive. I got this for my birthday, but I already had one so I am selling this one.

128GB leather flash drive listed on ebay by mcs297 is fake

leave a comment »

This leather and metal model of flash drive listed by mcs297 on ebay is a notorious fake capacity flash drive which corrupts files. Although the capacity of fake flash drives appears to be as advertised when you look at the drive properties this is due to fraudulent programming of the control chip. We suspect this ebayer may have bought this fake on ebay from suspended fraudster star88909 in June. You’d think that mcs297 might have thought it was a little suspicious when the only item purchased vanished from his or her won list.
