64GB Kingston flash drive on ebay from soneromayor2006 sure to be fake

Although ebay seller soneromayor2006 had only one negative feedback comment when we last looked this ebay member has sold quite a number of fake capacity USB flash drives including several of the notorious leather and steel type.

We are certain that this 64GB Kingston DataTraveler 150 flash drive will turn out to be a fake capacity counterfeit that corrupts files. In the highly unlikely event that we are wrong the buyer will be able to verify the serial number with Kingston.

It seems that most ebayers are still relying on what their operating system reports when they plug a flash drive in. This is not necessarily the truth as many flash drives are programmed to report a fake capacity. They leave positive feedback after (at most) looking at drive properties and saving a few small files.

Even a fake flash drive will seem to be fine at first!
It is only when the true capacity is exceeded that the problems begin.

We advise everyone who buys flash memory items to test them with the free program h2testw irrespective of where they were purchased – otherwise you run the risk of data loss and corruption.

Report your fake if testing confirms you have purchased fake capacity flash memory on ebay.
