256GB DT310 in ebay auction from lindahoney13 probably fake

leave a comment »

Seller lindahoney13 listed this single 256GB Kingston DataTraveler 310 USB flash drive at auction on an ebay with a 3 day listing (item number 180540128316) with a start price of £19.99 and postage costs of £3.00. We don’t think for a second that this flash drive is genuine. We are sure that this is yet another fake capacity counterfeit USB flash drive that corrupts files.

No canny Scot who lives in a wee place like Falkirk would risk losing well over a hundred pounds by listing a genuine one of these like this!!

It costs a lot more than the bid shown when this listing was captured to buy these wholesale in bulk. In fact it actually costs more than £50 to manufacture one. We have a feeling that this was purchased from one of the many fraudulent sellers recently kicked off ebay for selling counterfeit Kingston flash drives.

PLEASE EBAYERS – DO NOT RE-SELL FLASH MEMORY ITEMS BOUGHT ON EBAY!!

If (by some miracle) this flash drive is genuine the buyer will be able to confirm this by verifying the serial number with Kingston. We are pretty certain there is a snowball’s chance in hell that Kingston will verify this flash drive.

We advise everyone who buys flash memory items to test them with the free program h2testw irrespective of where they were purchased – otherwise you run the risk of data loss and corruption.

Report your fake if testing confirms you have purchased fake capacity flash memory on ebay.

ebay alert: zhangjiefei2010 is another fake flash fraudster in China

Seller zhangjiefei2010 had not given a picture in this ebay listing for 256GB USB flash drives. We can hardly credit that some people have already bought these without there even being a picture at the ludicrously low buy it now price of $19.66. It is not possible to manufacture, let alone sell, 256GB USB flash drives at this price. What buyers will get is a fake capacity flash drive that corrupts files.

32GB Kingston from ebayer bigmike698 a bit too cheap to be genuine

with 2 comments

The 32GB Kingston DataTraveler 200 flash drives in this ebay listing from bigmike698 seem a bit too cheap to be genuine. We think this ebay seller may have bought these from one of the fraudulent wholesale outlets selling fake capacity counterfeit flash drives. If this is the case then this USB flash drive corrupts files. In the unlikely case that these are in fact genuine Kingston flash drives then buyers will be able to confirm this by verifying the serial numbers with Kingston.

The 32GB USB flash drive pictured in this ebay listing from vanandpat123 is certain to be fake capacity and a fake capacity USB flash drive corrupts files. Any flash drive in this packaging that was tested by our team turned out to be a fake manufactured by fraudsters in China. These are supplied by fraudulent wholesalers to the unwary who often don’t realise that there is such a thing as fake flash memory. This ebayer obviously bought from such a supplier. You are advised never to buy any flash drive in this packaging.
