256GB Kingston flash drive from ebayer meecham unlikely to be genuine

leave a comment »

We think it unlikely that this 256GB Kingston DataTraveler 310 flash drive listed at auction on ebay by meecham is genuine. The seller provides a screenshot of the drive properties shown by the operating system. Such screenshots are totally meaningless as all the operating system shows is whatever the control chip of the drive has been programmed to report and it is very easy to program the chip with false information.

We have not yet discovered where seller meecham obtained this flash drive but we are pretty certain it will turn out to be a fake capacity counterfeit that corrupts files. In the unlikely event that we are wrong and the flash drive is in fact genuine the buyer will be able to confirm this by verifying the serial number with Kingston. If Kingston cannot verify the serial number then our suspicions are correct and this is a fake.

We advise everyone who buys flash memory items to test them with the free program h2testw irrespective of where they were purchased – otherwise you run the risk of data loss and corruption.

ebay fake flash fraudster fdtruiuydfg suspended and listings removed

Beware of ebay listings for flash drives (or other flash memory items) like the ones above and below from suspended ebay fake flash fraudster fdtruiuydfg. If you see that a seller is registered in China and is offering flash memory items at low prices: BE SUSPICIOUS!

Our findings indicate you cannot possibly buy a genuine 64GB flash drive for less than about £70. If someone finds genuinine ones for less we’d dearly like to know where!

When you see ebay listings like this you can be certain you are looking at a fake that corrupts files. There are NO genuine Sony Vaio flash drives whatsoever – they are purely the invention of fraudsters in China, the home of fake flash fraud which we sometimes refer to as fakeflashland!

This seller has been suspended by ebay and listings have been removed, so if you bought from fdtruiuydfg you will find the item has vanished from your won list. You may not receive anything at all – but if you do get a flash drive it will be a fake that corrupts your files and you will have a fight on your hands to get your money back!!

We advise everyone who buys flash memory items to test them with the free program h2testw irrespective of where they were purchased – otherwise you run the risk of data loss and corruption.

The 32GB flash drives in this ebay listing from pettkers123 are fake capacity, which corrupts files – this model is notorious! Every single leather and steel flash drive like this that we tested (whatever the advertised capacity) could store less than 4GB of files before things started to be lost and corrupted.
