Needless to say (given the price) the 128GB Kingston DataTraveler 200 USB flash drives listed on ebay by bzaptme were fake capacity counterfeits. A fake capacity flash drive corrupts files. This seller was suspended by ebay for listing these counterfeits so anyone who bought will find it has vanished from their won list.

fake 256GB Kingston flash drives listed on ebay by redseams2

The supposedly 256GB Kingston flash drives in this ebay listing from redseams2 are obvious fakes – this model of Kingston flash drive is not made in either 256GB capacity or with the pink colour. This seller obviously bought from a fraudulent supplier. These flash drives are fake capacity counterfeits manufactured by fraudsters in China and anyone who buys one will find it corrupts their files.

UPDATE: 02/09/2010
It appears that seller redseams2 has realised that something is amiss with the supposedly 256GB Kingston flash drives purchased from a fraudulent wholesaler but this has not deterred the seller from trying to sell this obvious fake, as is demonstrated by this listing:

We can’t decide whether this seller is deliberately fraudulent or just plain stupid.

The 128GB Kingston DataTraveler 200 flash drives sold in this ebay listing from dcszqgrj are fake capacity counterfeits. Anyone who bought one of these will find it corrupts their files once the real capacity (probably 4GB at the very most) has been filled. This seller has been suspended by ebay so anyone who bought one of these will find it has vanished from their won list.

Beware! yuananyu2010 sells fake 32GB USB flash drives on ebay

leave a comment »

The wording in this ebay listing from yuananyu2010 does not mention Kingston but what is shown in the pictures is apparently a 32GB Kingston DataTraveler USB flash drive. Why could this be? Is it is because seller yuananyu2010 is perfectly aware that the flash drives are not genuine Kingson and is hoping to evade ebay’s automated fraud detection system? Anyone who bought one of these just got themselves a fake capacity counterfeit USB flash drive that corrupts files.

UPDATE: This seller has been suspended by ebay so if you bought from yuananyu2010 your item will have vanished from your won list.

The 128GB Kingston DT200 USB flash drives in this ebay listing from bjewhkp were (needless to say) fake capacity counterfeits which will corrupt buyers’ files. At this price they simply couldn’t be anything else. Unsurprisingly the seller has been suspended by ebay and listings removed so anyone who bought will find the item has vanished from their won list.

128GB flash drive listed on ebay by quad_core will corrupt files

leave a comment »

The supposedly 128GB USB flash drive in this ebay auction from quad_core is not generic. If it is not a genuine Kingston then it is a counterfeit, not a generic flash drive!! The sale of counterfeit items is a criminal offence. Not only that – unlike a counterfeit Gucci handbag (which at least is a functional handbag even if it’s not genuine) a counterfeit USB flash drive does not function properly – at least, not for long! Why? Because a counterfeit flash drive is always fake capacity and corrupts files once the small real capacity is full.
