128GB DT200 sold on ebay by mmnosug are counterfeits that trash files

leave a comment »

The flash drives sold on ebay by mmnosug are fake capacity counterfeits – at this price (below the cost of manufacture) they simply couldn’t be anything else. Anyone who bought one of these will find it corrupts their files after a while. This seller has been suspended by ebay so anyone who bough will find the item has vanished from their won list.

We advise everyone who buys flash memory items to test them with the free program h2testw irrespective of where they were purchased – otherwise you run the risk of data loss and corruption.

if 256GB DT200 in ebay auctions by intersatusa are genuine seller likely to make loss

leave a comment »

Seller intersatusa stands to make a big loss if the 256GB Kingston DataTraveler 200 flash drives in ebay auctions are genuine. If they are indeed genuine (which we doubt – we think it is more likely that the seller made the mistake of buying from a fraudulent supplier) then buyers will be able to confirm they are genuine by verifiying the serial number of their flash drive with Kingston.

UPDATE 04/09/2010
We just noticed the ebay listing below which confirms our suspicions that this seller bought from a fraudulent supplier:

The model of Kingston flash drive in this listing is not available in 256GB capacity and this colour would be 32GB if it was genuine. Something we saw in another listing for this particular fake made us very suspicious – can you see what made us suspicious? See ebay item 260660075041 – a look at this listing leads us to think that this seller may be fully aware that he or she is selling counterfeits.

There is no chance of a flash drive from this seller being genuine. Seems that quite a number of ebayers have bought counterfeit DT310 flash drives from intersatusa – let’s hope they find out the truth before they find any important data has been lost from their fake flash drive.

torpedohoolkassel lists notorious leather and steel flash drive on ebay

leave a comment »

The 64GB flash drive in this ebay listing from torpedohoolkassel is a notorious fake capactiy flash drive that corrupts files. Never buy this leather and steel type of flash drive on ebay unless it is a present for your worst enemy! There are 3 surefire indicators in this listing that a flash drive is a fake:

  1. The model of flash drive – the leather and steel type always prove to be fakes
  2. The packaging – all flash drives in this packaging have proved to be fake
  3. The shiny capacity sticker – never seen on genuine drives, only ever on fakes

Never buy a flash drive with any of these indicators – you will find it corrupts your files!! The leather and steel type is notorious – sold on ebay for years in every imaginable false capacity. This particular model is a favourite with the fraud gangs in China who manufacture fake flash drives – very easy to program so that it reports whatever capacity they like to the operating system.

We advise everyone who buys flash memory items to test them with the free program h2testw irrespective of where they were purchased – otherwise you run the risk of data loss and corruption.

are Kingston flash drives sold on ebay by rudaxe-business genuine?

leave a comment »

If this 32GB Kingston DataTravleler 200 USB flash drive sold on ebay by rudaxe-business is genuine the buyer got a bargain as it sold for $57.00 with $4 for shipping. These cost $116.00 if you buy direct from Kingston However, we wonder this is yet another ebay seller who bought from a fraudulent supplier in China as we can’t see any sign in the seller’s picture of the engraving that should be on the USB connector if it is genuine.

If this flash drive did come from a fraudulent supplier it will be a fake capacity counterfeit which corrupts files. The buyer can check whether or not it is genuine by verifying the serial number of the flash drive with Kingston – all genuine ones have unique verifiable serial numbers.

super130hoot sells counterfeit 128GB Kingston DT200 flash drives on ebay

leave a comment »

If you bought a 128GB Kingston DataTraveler 200 USB flash drive from super130hoot you just got yourself a fake capacity counterfeit that corrupts files. Apart from the fact that this seller’s price is below the cost of manufacture there are other clues that this is a case of fake flash fraud – among which is the statement:

There will be no Import duties, taxes and charges for all the countries. We will declare as gift with low values.
Serious Buyer Only! Please place bid or “Buy it now” only if you agree the price and terms of the product and no argument after the auction

So this seller is violating customs regulations (would you trust a seller who publicly states they will break the law?) and expects buyers not to complain if they find out they got a fake!! Always think before you buy on ebay – and read listings carefully!!

We advise everyone who buys flash memory items to test them with the free program h2testw irrespective of where they were purchased – otherwise you run the risk of data loss and corruption.

128GB DT200 in ebay auction from byrdfish2flyfree

We think it likely that this 128GB Kingston DataTraveler 200 flash drive being auctioned on ebay by byrdfish2flyfree will turn out to be another fake capacity counterfeit. If we are mistaken the buyer will be able to confirm it is genuine by verifying the serial number with Kingston. If Kingston cannot verify the serial number then it is (as we suspect) a fake capacity counterfeit that corrupts files.

ebay seller cizlpcng29 pretends notorious fake flash drive is in USA

leave a comment »

The leather and steel type of flash drive in this ebay listing from cizlpcng29 is notorious for being fake capacity and corrupting files. The item location given in the listing (Brooklyn, New York, USA) is as fake as the flash drive – the flash drives are no doubt in the same location as the seller, which is (surprise, surprise) China – home of fake flash memory which trashes users’ data.

Anyone who bought one of these will have chucked their money and their valuable files down the toilet if they fall for the fact that the operating system reports the capacity as 32GB and leave this fraudster positive feedback. By the time that the file loss and corruption starts it is likely to be far to late to claim a refund.

However, those who test them with h2testw immediately they arrive stand some chance of getting their money back through paypal and can do other ebayers a favour if (or rather when) the flash drive fails this test by leaving a negative to warn others.

Are 32GB Kingston flash drives from ebayer touchaustralia genuine?

If the 32GB Kingston DataTraveler 200 flash drives being sold on ebay by touchaustralia are genuine we wonder why the seller is using private auctions. Buyers can check whether Kingston flash drives are genuine or not by verifying the serial number with Kingston. If the serial number cannot be verified then the flash drive is a fake capacity counterfeit that corrupts files.

256GB Kingston DT310 flash drives auctioned on ebay by meustad

leave a comment »

We’d be very surprised if the 256GB Kingston DataTraveler 310 flash drives being auctioned on ebay by meustad are geniune as the seller would be risking a big loss on sales by listing them in three day auctions if they are. Buyers can check whether or not Kingston DT310 flash drives are genuine by verifying serial numbers with Kingston. If the serial number of your USB flash drive cannot be verified by Kingston then it is a fake capacity counterfeit that corrupts files.
