if 256GB DT200 in ebay auctions by intersatusa are genuine seller likely to make loss

Seller intersatusa stands to make a big loss if the 256GB Kingston DataTraveler 200 flash drives in ebay auctions are genuine. If they are indeed genuine (which we doubt – we think it is more likely that the seller made the mistake of buying from a fraudulent supplier) then buyers will be able to confirm they are genuine by verifiying the serial number of their flash drive with Kingston.

We advise everyone who buys flash memory items to test them with the free program h2testw irrespective of where they were purchased – otherwise you run the risk of data loss and corruption.

Report your fake if testing confirms you have purchased fake capacity flash memory on ebay.

UPDATE 04/09/2010
We just noticed the ebay listing below which confirms our suspicions that this seller bought from a fraudulent supplier:

The model of Kingston flash drive in this listing is not available in 256GB capacity and this colour would be 32GB if it was genuine. Something we saw in another listing for this particular fake made us very suspicious – can you see what made us suspicious? See ebay item 260660075041 – a look at this listing leads us to think that this seller may be fully aware that he or she is selling counterfeits.

There is no chance of a flash drive from this seller being genuine. Seems that quite a number of ebayers have bought counterfeit DT310 flash drives from intersatusa – let’s hope they find out the truth before they find any important data has been lost from their fake flash drive.
