daves_aussie_deals lists notorious fake 128GB flash drive on ebay

leave a comment »

Seller daves_aussie_deals obviously bought the flash drives in this ebay listing from a fraudulent wholesale outlet as this leather and steel type model is a notorious fake capacity USB flash drive that corrupts files. The seller may have no idea that these are fakes – a lot of sellers who buy from fraudulent suppliers in China don’t realise.

Never buy this model of flash drive – it is always fake, as is anything with the little shiny capacity sticker you can see in the photo and any type of flash drive that comes in this particular package!

We advise everyone who buys flash memory items to test them with the free program h2testw irrespective of where they were purchased – otherwise you run the risk of data loss and corruption.

Has ebayer simple-solutions2010 aka simplesolutionz2010 something to hide?

leave a comment »

We previously reported our suspicions that the flash drives sold by simple-solutions2010 were a bit on the cheap side. This seller changed ID on August 14th to simplesolutionz2010 – now why would someone do that?

Could it be that this seller has something to hide? As you can see from the screenshot on the right this is not this seller’s first ID change.

We advise everyone who buys flash memory items to test them with the free program h2testw irrespective of where they were purchased – otherwise you run the risk of data loss and corruption.

Are HP flash drives sold on ebay by lmc059 genuine or counterfeit?

leave a comment »

A number of 8GB and 16GB HP flash drives have been sold at auction on ebay by lmc059 and it appears that the seller may have made a loss on about half the listings if the flash drives are genuine. This makes us wonder whether these might be fake capacity counterfeits purchased from a fraudulent wholesale outlet.

We advise everyone who buys flash memory items to test them with the free program h2testw irrespective of where they were purchased – otherwise you run the risk of data loss and corruption.

Test flash drives bought on ebay from eccoboy1974 with h2testw

leave a comment »

If you bought a flash drive on ebay from eccoboy1974 we advise you to test it with h2testw as we have a feeling that these are fake capacity flash drives bought from a fraudulent supplier. A lot of ebay sellers buy from fraudulent wholesale outlets in China and we suspect this is the case with this seller.

Often ebay sellers have no idea that they are selling fakes – it doesn’t occur to them that they should test at least a sample of the stock with h2testw before listing on ebay. We suggest that seller eccoboy1974 does so immediately!!

It appears that eccoboy1974 sold 10 of these in a previous ebay listing (Item number: 200513130227) that ended yesterday, so if this is a seller who made an honest mistake he or she will have a bit of sorting out to do in contacting buyers and refunding them in order not to destroy the 100% positive feedback score the seller currently has.

We advise everyone who buys flash memory items to test them with the free program h2testw irrespective of where they were purchased – otherwise you run the risk of data loss and corruption.

If 128GB DT200 sold on ebay is genuine seems ltech007 made loss

leave a comment »

If this 128GB Kingston DataTraveler 200 flash drive sold on ebay by ltech007 was genuine then seller ltech007 made a loss by auctioning it. However, the apparent lack of a serial number on the back of the packaging makes us sure it is counterfeit. Normally we would advise people to check the serial number with Kingston to ensure a flash drive is genuine, however if there is no serial number it simply has to be a fake capacity counterfeit that corrupts files.

Whether you are a buyer or a seller always check the back of the package to find the serial number for a Kingston flash drives. Each Kingston flash drive (at least the high capacity ones, anyway) should have a unique serial number. If there is no serial number (or the serial numbers are the same) it’s counterfeit. All genuine Kingston flash drives have the drive capacity, model and other information engraved on the USB connector – no engraving means a counterfeit!!

We advise everyone who buys flash memory items to test them with the free program h2testw irrespective of where they were purchased – otherwise you run the risk of data loss and corruption.

are 128GB DT200 flash drives from ebayer greatstuffsforsell genuine?

leave a comment »

When we saw this ebay listing from greatstuffsforsell this ebayer had four ebay 3 day auctions with a 99 cent start price for 128GB Kingston Data Traveler 200 flash drives with rather heavy shipping charges! Do we think that these are genuine? We think there is about as much chance of you finding a hen’s tooth under your pillow.

This seller simply has to have purchase fake capacity counterfeits from a fraudulent supplier – no one could afford to risk the possibility of selling a number of items (even taking the huge shipping cost into account) at less than they cost wholesale. We conclude that these simply have to be fakes from China. We are pretty certain that what buyers will get is a fake capacity flash drive that corrupts files.

In the extremely unlikely event that we are mistaken buyers will be able to verify the serial number with Kingston – but somehow, we don’t think so!
