Here we have yet another ebayer auctioning a high capacity Kingston flash drives with the “unwanted gift” claim. It’s amazing how many people have friends or relatives who throw away large sums of money on buying a gift without having a clue whether the recipient actually wants it or not.

Do you spend large sums on a gift for someone without the slightest clue whether the person you bought it for might want it or not?

Do we beleive this seller? Of course we don’t – especially since keeda9 would have had a lot of generous gifts if a word of this listing was true! See the following ebay item numbers from keeda9:

230527672350, 230528073730, 230528019262, 230528126025m 230528085274, 230528089867, 230528089679, 230528019309, 230528108619, 230528125941, 230528085401, 230527615729, 230528074002 and 230528095524 – that’s a heck of a lot of unwanted gifts!!

This looks very like a case of deliberate fraud to us! Normally we’d advise checking serial numbers with Kingston but in this case we are certain buyers won’t be able to verify them.

We advise everyone who buys flash memory items to test them with the free program h2testw irrespective of where they were purchased – otherwise you run the risk of data loss and corruption.

Report your fake if testing confirms you have purchased fake capacity flash memory on ebay.

UPDATE 05/11/10

We knew instantly that keeda9 had firey pants – subsequent sales have proved us right but so far no buyer seems to have realised that the Kingston flash drive purchased from this seller is a fake capacity counterfeit that corrupts files.
