Is this 64GB Kingston DataTraveler 150 flash drive being sold on ebay by errinsmusic genuine? We wonder because it seems a bit odd to buy something as expensive as a 64GB flash drive and then decide a couple of weeks later that you don’t need it.

If it is genuine then the buyer will find that details of the flash drive (model number capacity etc.) are engraved on the USB connector. If there is no engraving then it is a fake capacity counterfeit that corrupts files.

As some of the cleverer counterfeiters in China actually do engrave the connector the presence of engraving by itself does not gaurantee the drive is genuine. As this one is without packaging the best thing would be to test it with h2testw.

We advise everyone who buys flash memory items to test them with the free program h2testw irrespective of where they were purchased – otherwise you run the risk of data loss and corruption.

Report your fake if testing confirms you have purchased fake capacity flash memory on ebay.
