Fighting flash fraud on Ebay

The authors of this blog want to elimnate flash fraud on Ebay

256GB DT310 flash drives from ebay seller mari092009 too cheap to be genuine

with 6 comments

The buy it now price in this ebay listing from mari092009 is too low for one genuine Kingston DataTraveler 310 flash drive let alone five. These are certain to be fake capacity counterfeits and a fake capacity USB flash drive corrupts files.

We advise everyone who buys flash memory items to test them with the free program h2testw irrespective of where they were purchased – otherwise you run the risk of data loss and corruption.

Report your fake if testing confirms you have purchased fake capacity flash memory on ebay.

  1. Hi wtf bs

We understand your caution about giving out a real email address – we are all cautious about this too!

The trouble with not giving your real email address is that we can’t get in touch with you personally which can be useful both to you and us. We don’t publish your email address or give it out to anyone else so it’s only our tiny little team that has access to your email address. We wanted to contact you outside of the blog about some details but couldn’t because the email address was not real.

Glad you got your refund – please help us by warning others who bought fakes! It’s often easy to spot fake flash drives – if the price from an ebay seller is less than half what it is on the high street, smell a rat!

  5. wtf bs,
If you bought a counterfeit Kingston flash drive from mari092009 be sure to put in a refund claim. If you paid via paypal with a Visa card then you are in a good position as Visa can do a chargeback against paypal.
