Fighting flash fraud on Ebay

The authors of this blog want to elimnate flash fraud on Ebay

256GB flash drives from ebay seller xnandosx sure to be fake

We are given to understand that it is not yet possible to fit enough flash memory into a swivel type flash drive of the type shown in this ebay listing from seller xnandosx. Aside from this, the manufacturer’s cost of a USB flash drive of 256GB is higher than the seller’s price so it simply not possible on two counts that these are genuine 256GB USB flash drives.

We can only conclude that xnandosx (like many other ebay sellers) fell into the trap of buying from one of the fraudulent suppliers in China.

We strongly advise ebay sellers not to buy flash memory items from suppliers in China unless they know a lot about what they are buying – otherwise they are likely to find themselves buying fakes. If your profit margin could be more than 20% on ebay then the items are extremely likely to be fakes!

We advise everyone who buys flash memory items to test them with the free program h2testw irrespective of where they were purchased – otherwise you run the risk of data loss and corruption.

Report your fake if testing confirms you have purchased fake capacity flash memory on ebay.
