Counterfeit 256GB Kingston flash drives from d.g.services on ebay

Had ebay seller d.g.services done his or her research properly before buying the seller would have known in advance that these are very obvious fake capacity counterfeit Kingston flash drives. The DataTraveler 200 is not made in 256GB capacity – a quick look at the Kingston web site would have told the seller this. In this listing (item number 190489649599) d.g.services says:

Kingston 256GB DataTraveler 200

This item has been imported from China and is not working as it should be. Ive been told that it needs HP USB recovery program to get it working.
I have also found out that only about half of memory can be used (80-140GB) All items are new although have been opened.
I will not accept returns or refunds as i have given as much information as i can

We think d.g.services is mistaken about the storage capacity of these fakes and that it is unlikely that they can store as much as 8GB let alone 80GB. Once the real capacity of a fake capacity flash drive is filled it corrupts files.

We wonder if the seller realises that selling counterfeits is actually a criminal offence that could result in prosecution in court.

We advise everyone who buys flash memory items to test them with the free program h2testw irrespective of where they were purchased – otherwise you run the risk of data loss and corruption.

Report your fake if testing confirms you have purchased fake capacity flash memory on ebay.
