Fighting flash fraud on Ebay

The authors of this blog want to elimnate flash fraud on Ebay

beware; USB flash drives from ebay seller ovino51 likely fakes

Seller ovino51 has listed a number of different models of USB flash drive at auction on ebay and we strongly suspect that they are fakes. We think anyone who buys a USB flash drive from this ebay seller will discover it is fake capacity and corrupts files. We also suspect there is a link between the ebay IDs ovino51 and scott92214.

We advise everyone who buys flash memory items to test them with the free program h2testw irrespective of where they were purchased – otherwise you run the risk of data loss and corruption.

Report your fake if testing confirms you have purchased fake capacity flash memory on ebay.

  1. “HI, I am that seller ovino51”

Yeah right, we believe you, not!

If you and they ARE real, send one to Kingston for analysis, I am sure they will let you have it back if its genuine!

Let us all know how you get on.

  2. Well ovino51, if (as you claim) your items are genuine then you certainly made a loss on the auction for two 256GB Kingston flash drives (ebay item number 170587139410) which sold for $108.50 on January 10th.
