256GB Kingston DT300 flash drives from ebayer fatif a bit cheap

leave a comment »

The buy it now price in this ebay listing from fatif seems a little on the low side for the 256GB Kingston DataTraveler 3100 flash drive. Buyers can check whether or not a Kingston flash drive is genuine quite easily – here are the steps:

  1. Look at the back of the pack – is there a serial number?
  2. If there is no serial number (there should be a label showing this) then it is sure to be a fake capacity counterfeit that corrupts files – but the presence of a serial number does not, in itself, guarantee it is genuine.

  3. Look at the USB connector – is there engraving on it giving details about the flash drive?
  4. If there is no engraving you can be sure it is a counterfeit that will trash your files – but again, the presence of engraving does not in itself guarantee it is genuine.

  5. If both a serial number and engraving are present try verifying the serial number with Kingston.
  6. If Kingston cannot verify the serial number then you have a fake capacity counterfeit and your data will become lost or corrupted after a while.

We advise everyone who buys flash memory items to test them with the free program h2testw irrespective of where they were purchased – otherwise you run the risk of data loss and corruption.

If the 256GB Kingston DataTraveler 300 flash drives listed on ebay by songbird3252 are genuine the seller could make a huge loss on the large number listed at auction. Buyers can check whether or not a Kingston flash drive is genuine quite easily – here are the steps:

  1. Look at the back of the pack – is there a serial number?
  2. If there is no serial number (there should be a label showing this) then it is sure to be a fake capacity counterfeit that corrupts files – but the presence of a serial number does not, in itself, gaurantee it is genuine.

The 256GB Kingston DataTraveler 300 USB flash drive in this ebay listing from pingg2010 is far too cheap to be anything other than a fake capacity counterfeit that corrupts files. The same applies to the 32GB Sandisk SDHC memory card and micro SDHC memory cards from this seller.

256GB Kingston DT300 flash drive from ebayer mfyargici

If this 256GB Kingston DataTraveler 300 flash drive was genuine then mfyargici could well make a loss by auctioning it on ebay, however the seller has one of these on buy it now for $50 with $15 shipping so they simply have to be fake capacity counterfeits, no doubt purchased from a fraudulent supplier in China.

USB flash drives from ebay seller maximzakhmax are fakes

leave a comment »

Seller maximzakhmax has obviously been shopping in fake flash land as the supposedly 256GB leather and steel flash drives are notorious fakes produced by fraudsters in China. This seller obviously bought both these and the 256GB Kingston DataTraveler 200 listed on ebay at the same buy it now price (impossibly low for a genuine 256GB flash drive anyway) from the same fraudulent supplier.

The supplier was no doubt one of the fraudulent wholesale outlets in China who peddle their fake wares on websites such as alibaba, tradetang, aliexpress, dhgate etceteras. Ebay sellers beware! Do your research before you buy flash memory items to sell on ebay – there are a lot of fraudulent suppliers out there!!

Dodgy ebay listings for Kingston USB flash drives from aimmemory

leave a comment »

Seller aimmemory has quite a number of private one day “for charity” ebay auctions for Kingston flash drives on ebay. We are fairly certain that the 256GB Kingston DataTraveler 300 flash drive in this listing and others will prove to be a fake capactity counterfeit. Apart from anything else the seller specifically says in the listing above:

Please note that this USB is made in china, in sealed factory package and not tested, therefore no returns are allowed.

Hardly a statement of confidence in the product is it? It seems likely that the 64GB Kingston Datatraveler (ebay item 220673379045 and others) listed by this seller will also be fake capacity counterfeits.

  5. If both a serial number and engraving are present try verifying the serial number with Kingston.
  6. If Kingston cannot verify the serial number then you have a fake capacity counterfeit and your data will become lost or corrupted after a while.

256GB Kingston flash drives from ebayer cute.beauty22 too cheap

leave a comment »

The 256GB Kingston DataTraveler 310 flash drives in this ebay listing from cute.beauty22 are too cheap to be anything other than fake capacity counterfeits. The seller may not be aware they are fakes but we are not too sure as the seller seems to be registered in the USA but chose to list this item (and the 256GB Kingston DataTraveler flash drives in another listing) on ebay Australia instead, which seems a little odd.

Anyone who bought one of these will find it corrupts files after a while.

All genuine 256GB Kingston DT 310 flash drives have unique serial numbers which can be used to verify with Kingston that the flash drive is genuine. As these simply have to be fakes from China buyers will not be able to verify serial numbers with Kingston, even if one is shown – which they often aren’t on fakes. If there is one then the serial number will either be one copied from a genuine drive (which has probably already been registered) or one that was simply made up by the fraudsters who manufacture these.

We advise everyone who buys flash memory items to test them with the free program h2testw irrespective of where they were purchased – otherwise you run the risk of data loss and corruption.

256GB Kingston flash drives in ebay auctions from sbb351

leave a comment »

Seller sbb351 has a number of auctions on ebay for 256GB Kingston DT300 and DT310 flash drives. We suspect they came from a fraudulent supplier as the seller would risk losing thousands of dollars in sales if they were genuine. In the highly unlikely event that they are genuine buyers will be able to confirm this by verifying the serial number of the drive with Kingston. If the serial number cannot be verified the flash drive is a fake capacity counterfeit that corrupts files.

3 day ebay auction for 256GB Kingston DT300 from octogonpc

leave a comment »

If this 256GB Kingston DataTraveler 300 USB flash drive is genuine then seller octogonpc is taking a big risk by selling it in a 3 day ebay auction as the seller is very likely to make a loss. The buyer can confirm whether or not it is genuine by using Kingston’s serial number verification system. If the serial number cannot be verified by Kingston then the USB flash drive is a fake capacity counterfeit that corrupts files.

256GB DT300 flash drive in ebay auction from gensing1029 unlikely to be genuine

We think it unlikely that this 256GB Kingston DataTraveler 300 flash drive being auctioned on ebay by gensing1029 is genuine. If we are wrong then the buyer will be able to verify the serial number with Kingston and the seller will probably have made a loss. If the serial number cannot be verified this USB flash drive is a fake capacity counterfeit that corrupts files.

256GB DT300 flash drives on ebay from raz_1lion may be counterfeit

leave a comment »

The fact that seller raz_1lion is prepared to take less than the already rather too low buy it now price in this ebay listing for a 256GB Kingston DataTraveler 300 flash drive makes us suspect that this seller is likely to have bought them from a fraudulent supplier. If our suspicions prove correct this USB flash drive is a fake capacity counterfeit that corrupts files. If or suspicions are unfounded the buyer will be able to confirm that it is genuine by verifying the serial number with Kingston.

Buy it now price for DT300 flash drive from ebayer rc33333 too low

leave a comment »

The 256GB Kingston DataTraveler 300 flash drive pictured in this private ebay listing from rc33333 is too cheap to be genuine. This ebayer must have bought them from a fraudulent supplier. The use of a private listing makes us wonder whether rc33333 actually beleives what is said in the listing, or whether this is a deliberate cover-up:

Notes: This product is ORIGINAL. This is not a copy with one lasted life of 3 to 6 months. You have a 5 year warranty. Also, it’s not a copy that will take only 2, 3 or 5 GB of actual capacity..! Our USB Flash Driver has a real capacity to 256 GB. WARRANTY and TESTED up to 225 GB and then I made a perfectly successful defragmentation.

We think this simply has to be a fake capacity counterfeit that corrupts files. In the unlikely event that we are mistaken buyers will be able to verify with Kingston that their flash drive is genuine using the unique serial number that each genuine one should have.

We advise everyone who buys flash memory items to test them with the free program h2testw irrespective of where they were purchased – otherwise you run the risk of data loss and corruption.

UPDATE: It seems that this seller has now been suspended by ebay – no surprise there, then! Never buy flash memory items in private ebay auctions – they are pretty certain to be fake.

If the 256GB Kingston DataTraveler 300 sold in this ebay listing from davidh7402010 is genuine then the seller made a loss by selling it at auction. Genuine flash drives of this type have individual serial numbers which can be used to verify the drive with Kingston. 256GB DT300 flash drive from ebayer xurarx probable counterfeit

leave a comment »

We have a feeling that the 256GB Kingston DataTraveler 300 USB flash drive in this ebay listing from xurarx will turn out to be a fake capacity counterfeit which corrupts files. If we are wrong then this seller has already sold one at a massive loss and it looks as though this one will sell at below wholesale price too. However we don’t think we are wrong – after all would you carry on selling items on ebay at a massive loss?

We find this listings by anitanajaf604 for 128GB Kingston DataTraveler 300 flash drives highly suspect. We are certain these will be counterfeit and fake capacity. The serial numbers of genuine ones can be verified with Kingston – we don’t think they will verify the ones from this seller.
