Gremlin on ebay with fraudsters’ favourite and fake Sony

gremlin2sSeller bianyue9090 has two fake 32GB USB flash flash drives for you to choose from – what we beleive to be counterfeit Sony (shown above) and the fraudsters’ favourite leather flash drive you will see in many of the other posts here.

We advise everyone who buys flash memory items to test them with the free program h2testw irrespective of where they were purchased – otherwise you run the risk of data loss and corruption.

Report in to SOSFakeFlash if your testing confirms you have purchased a false capacity device on ebay.

Fake 32GB Sony USB flash drive listed for sale by UK ebayer

leave a comment »

ruku1270 UK seller ruku1270 has listed a fake 32GB Sony USB flash drive we haven’t seen on ebay for a little while. Sony do not make this, it is a fake. Perhaps someone might like to inform the seller in case he or she is not aware of this.

For anyone who thinks that the fact that a flash drive was not made by the manufacturer it supposedly came from does not necessarily mean there is a problem (and we have come across ignorant sellers who say that it is not a problem because the properties show the full capacity!) – we say no!! This is not like buying a fake Gucci handbag!!

These are not just fake (in the sense of a counterfeit item not produced by the company the sellers claim they were produced by) – they are also fake capacity – usually 4GB or less programmed to lie to the operating system!! Users eventually lose all their files.

If you bought one you should test immediately with h2testw.
