Test flash memory items from ebay seller jasdow2002 with h2testw

leave a comment »

We advise anyone who buys a USB flash drive or MP player from ebay seller jasdow2002 with h2testw. It looks as though items from this seller are shipped from China. Most flash memory items shipped from China are fakes so there is a strong possibility that the 64GB Kingston DataTraveler 200 USB flash drives in this ebay listing will be fake capacity counterfeits and the MP players from this seller could well be fakes too.

We advise everyone who buys flash memory items to test them with the free program h2testw irrespective of where they were purchased – otherwise you run the risk of data loss and corruption.

Report your fake if testing confirms you have purchased fake capacity flash memory on ebay.

Bought an MP3 player from ebayer ukpluseuro? If so, test with h2testw!

If you bought an MP3 player from ukpluseuro we don’t think you can trust the built-in memory – don’t save tracks you do not have elswhere before testing the memory as information we have received suggests that the flash memory may be fake capacity.

Most of our team have no experience of MP3 players (so you won’t see many posts about these here) but we do know a bit about the cost of flash memory and other technology! We don’t think that ukpluseuro could sell MP players at this price if they had genuine 2GB memory chips.

All of the fightflash team got stung with fake capacity USB flash drives on ebay (we’re mostly IT folk) – which is why this blog exists at all, and what we concentrate on.

We advise everyone who buys flash memory items to test them with the free program h2testw irrespective of where they were purchased – otherwise you run the risk of data loss and corruption.

Report your fake if testing confirms you have purchased fake capacity flash memory on ebay.

Seller of fake MP Players now offering suspect USB flash drives

leave a comment »

Hong Kong based ebay seller focus-discount has been selling fake capacity MP players for some time. Now it seems from the listing below that this fraudster is expanding his operation to include fake capacity USB flash drives:

focus-discount

So far there is no feedback for flash drives but feedback from buyers indicates that these models of 8GB MP player currently on offer from this seller are fake capacity:

See this article for the model of MP player recorded as fake in the sosfakeflash database:

As ever we strongly advise ebayers to test all flash memory with the free program h2testw.

Report in to SOSFakeFlash if your testing confirms you have a false capacity device.

Negative feedback for suspect ebay seller supersellercn88

leave a comment »

Ebay seller supersellercn88, based in China has had negative feedback about the MP3 MP4 player shown on the right which suggests that the true capacity of this item is 1GB rather than the 8GB advertised by the seller. Another model from this seller seems to be 2GB rather than 8GB.

We await evidence from buyers confirming that this is the case. If you bought one of these and it does not have the capacity claimed please report in using the report a fake tab on sosfakeflash.

Is disubs the most successful ebay fraudster?

with one comment

Only one confirmed fake flash item from disubs has been reported to the frankenflash project, yet there are many comments indicating that disubs has supplied fake or faulty flash memory items to many buyers. The apparently fake or faulty items that got disubs negative feedback on ebay include USB flash drives, SD cards and MP3/MP4 players – Pay attention ebayers! Always look at seller’s negative feedback – if there is ANY NEG for a seller offering a flash memory item do not bid or buy! Check seller out by looking at the fraudster list on sosfakeflash and checking with previous buyers – only then should you consider buying. If anyone reading this bought a flash memory item from disubs please test your item with h2testw (download free from testing category) and send results along with seller ID and item number to one of these email addresses:

eBay Fake Flash Plague How Many Countries Have Been Impacted By Fake Flash Memory Cards – USB Drives – MP Players?

leave a comment »

eBay is one of the major distribution conduits on a global scale for fake (false capacity) flash memory cards, usb drives and MP Players. It has been for quiet a few years. The damage in data loss, financial loss and personal trauma to eBay members can not fully measured. Only eBay has the data, or so they would like to think.

The FrankenFlash Project is releasing in this article the countries and tallies reported for an eight month period. But first a little background on how it all started…
