counterfeit 256GB DT310 flash drives sold on ebay by zhqq1986

leave a comment »

The 256GB Kingston DataTraveler 310 flash drives sold on ebay by zhqq1986 were far too cheap to be genuine. What buyers will receive is a fake capacity counterfeit. The 32GB memory cards from this seller also seem a bit on the cheap side and we suspect they are fakes too – probably purchased from the same fraudulent supplier. This seller has now been suspended by ebay so if you bought from zhqq1986 the item will have vanished from your won list.

We advise everyone who buys flash memory items to test them with the free program h2testw irrespective of where they were purchased – otherwise you run the risk of data loss and corruption.

Beware of flash memory items sold on ebay by lcuents

leave a comment »

Axel drew our attention to this ebay listing for a fake flash drive. The model of Kingston shown in this ebay listing from lcuents was never made in 128GB capacity. This is a fake capacity counterfeit USB flash drive that corrupts files. We think the seller bought from one of the fraudulent wholesale outlets in China that sell counterfeit and fake capacity memory items so it is likely that memory cards from this seller will also be fake capacity.

We advise everyone who buys flash memory items to test them with the free program h2testw irrespective of where they were purchased – otherwise you run the risk of data loss and corruption.

ebay alert!! beware: memory cards sold by only2*you likely fakes

leave a comment »

An ebay member has contacted us with information that suggests that the real capacity of the supposedly 32GB memory cards in this ebay listing from only2*you is less than 1GB (probably 768 megabytes). If this ebayer’s information is correct (and we are fairly certain it is) then this memory card corrupts anything you save to it after the true capacity has been filled.

We advise everyone who buys flash memory items to test them with the free program h2testw irrespective of where they were purchased – otherwise you run the risk of data loss and corruption.

This 256GB Kingston Datatraveler 200 is a fake capacity counterfeit flash drive which corrupts files – as Axel says this model simply doesn’t exist other than as a fake. This seller also listed the 128GB model which does exist but as this seller obviously bought from a fraudulent supplier this will also be fake. No doubt the memory cards listed by this seller are fakes too.

Seller hjvnfurg88 is a devious ebay fake flash fraudster in China who pretends items are in the USA. The 256GB Kingston DataTraveler USB flash drive in this listing is undoubtedly a fake capacity counterfeit that corrupts files. This seller’s memory cards are no doubt also fakes.

The fact that fashonvictimes is selling these counterfeit 128GB Kingston DataTraveler 200 flash drives in a private ebay listing makes us wonder if fashonvictimes knows that these are fake capacity flash drives which will corrupt files. We think that as these are obviously counterfeits (they’re too cheap to be genuine) it is very likely that the memory cards from this seller are also counterfeit and fake capacity.

scr-boya is another ebay fake flash fraudster by the look of it

leave a comment »

We think the USB flash drive sold in this ebay listing from scr-boya and other flash memory items (the SD memory cards and possibly the MP players) from this seller have been fraudulently programmed to report a fake memory capacity to the operating system. Fake capacity flash memory items corrupt files once the true capacity of the memory is full and often become unusable afterwards as a result.

Beware of flash memory from ebay flash fraudster crystalpalace1987

leave a comment »

Despite the fact that ebay seller crystalpalace1987 is a proven fraudster who has sold many fake capacity flash memory items on ebay since we first reported suspicions about this seller back in September 2009, a couple of months after this ID was registered on ebay. By December 2009 crystalpalace1987 (identified as a member of a known fraud gang) became a powerseller despite evidence that proof of fraud had been obtained being published on the Internet in November 2009.

This fraudster is still selling fake flash memory items on ebay and (due to a combination of deviousness and the foolishness of most buyers on ebay who don’t test flash memory items on ebay before leaving feedback) crystalpalace1987 now has a huge positive feedback score of almost 8000 and a 99.1% rating!!

Any flash memory from ebay seller crystalpalace1987 (USB flash drives, MP players, memory cards) is bound to be fake capacity, which corrupts files. If you bought a flash memory item from this fraudster do not leave feedback until you have tested your item thoroughly!

16GB Sony memory cards sold by ebayer rycerz667malwina probably fake

leave a comment »

The Sony Pro Duo memory cards sold on ebay by rycerz667malwina are almost gauranteed to be counterfeit and fake capacity.

This ebayer sold some extremely obvious fake capacity USB flash drives that we christened “the fraudsters’ favourite” because this model of flash drive is sold by almost every fraudulent wholesale outlet in China.

As rycerz667malwina seems to have bought flash memory items from a fraudulent supplier it is highly unlikely that any flash memory item sold is genuine. Any counterfeit flash memory is fake capacity and corrupts files.

If you bought from this seller you should test your USB flash drive or memory card immediately with the free program h2testw as you will eventually end up with lost and corrupted files if you continue to use it.

If you bought flash memory from bobob_uk test it with h2testw

with 23 comments

We though that the flash memory items listed on ebay by bobob_uk looked suspiciously cheap so we took a look at the seller’s feedback to see what buyers had to say.

We saw comments which suggest that the class six memory cards sold are not class six and are slow.

A number of people seemed to have returned items and asked for refunds and a couple of buyers said the seller is not in fact based in the UK.

If you bought flash memory from this seller we suggest that you test it immediately as it may be that the items are fake capacity – if the flash memory is fake capacity then it will eventually corrupt files.

Looks like another ebay listing for a fake 128GB Kingston DT200

leave a comment »

We don’t think that this item listed at auction on ebay Australia is a genuine 128GB Kingston DataTraveler 200 USB flash drive. We think it is a counterfeit USB flash drive that corrupts files which was purchased by ebay seller whyallastar from a fraudulent supplier. We think that the 32GB Kingston SD memory cards are also counterfeits that will trash users’ photos and videos.

The seller may have no idea that these items are fake – sadly, far too few ebay sellers either do their research before buying flash memory items to sell on ebay or test the items they get from suppliers properly before listing them for sale.

Another ebay member in Germany with an obvious fake flash drive

leave a comment »

These flash drives listed on ebay Germany by akif206 are fake fake fakity fake. every single flash drive in this packaging seems to be fake capacity and this particular model (whatever the packaging) always proves to be a fake if sold as more than 4GB.

Even some sold as 4GB or less are often fake capacity. Fake capacity flash memory trashes your files. As it seems that akif206 bought from a fraudulent supplier any flash memory item from this seller is likely to be fake. The seller may not be aware that they are fakes as few sellers test their drives.

Visitor to fightflashfraud blog alerts us to probabable fake SD cards

with 13 comments

yaya0331Visitor scwam left a comment today on the fightflashfraud blog alerting us to a probable fraudster in China selling a large number of supposedly 32GB SD memory cards.

Seller yaya0331 has sold many of these in a short period at prices that would lead to serious financial loss if they were genuine. Although located in China this seller shows the merchandise as being in the USA. Somehow we don’t think so.

A number of fraudsters in China now seem to be listing things in this way with the aim of appearing to be local sellers – many ebayers are more trusting if they think they are buying from someone in their own country.

As usual we strongly advise ebayers to test all flash memory with the free program h2testw.

Report in to SOSFakeFlash if your testing confirms you have a false capacity device.

UPDATE 23/07/09:
When ebay suspended this ID and removed items for sale a new ID ninghailiang86 started up selling this item. If you suspect that a memory card (or any other flash memory item) listed on ebay is fake then please let us know by leaving a comment here!

Is ndspro a seller of fake MP players on ebay?

leave a comment »

Feedback suggests that ndspro may be selling fake capacity MP players. This seller has over 500 items listed at the moment. The seller is mainly offering MP players but there are a couple of USB flash drives and a couple of memory cards listed too. If you bought an MP player or other flash memory item from ndspro we suggest you test your item immediately with h2testw.

Report in to SOSFakeFlash if your testing confirms you have a false capacity device.

Fake 32GB SD memory cards listed on ebay

It seems that ebay seller super_store2009 may have offloaded a huge number of fake capacity SD cards on ebay. We are currently awaiting test results from a buyer to confirm our suspicion that this seller is a fraudster who sold fake capacity flash memory. The prices these sold at would have bankrupted this seller if the cards were genuine, therefore we conclude this is yet another fraud operation.

The seller currently has no listings – no doubt lying low for the present and waiting to see if he got away with his fraud!

If you bought a memory card from this seller test it immedately with the free program h2testw.

You are at risk of losing your pictures or videos if you use a card purchased from this seller. This seller sold over 10 THOUSAND of these before taking a rest from listing – we suspect that buyers will find that every single one is fake capacity.

Report your fake if testing confirms you have purchased fake capacity flash memory on ebay.

FAKE 16GB 32GB 64GB – Conversations Between A Fake Flash Seller and A Victim – The Truth About the Scam Exposed

leave a comment »

Why are fake usb pen sticks, MP players and memory cards sold on eBay? The false capacity ranging from 2GB 4GB 8GB 16GB 32GB 60GB 64GB 120GB 240GB 260GB 360GB to 500GB sizes.

One size is advertised but the true size is much smaller! You buy a 16GB MP player but only get 2GB or 4GB of storage. You buy a 16GB usb flash drive and get 1GB or 2GB of storage, maybe 4GB if you are lucky. You buy a 16GB memory card and only get 2GB or 4GB. When it comes to usb flash drives and memory cards, the digital alteration of the controller flash chip is deadly – you lose your data! Do the ebay sellers know what they are doing? Is there a reason?

Recently SOSFakeFlash asked for stories, experiences. We received one, an explicit conversation between a fake flash seller and a buyer victim. It dates to the summer of 2008 and nothing since has changed. It is published exactly as received. It might be long but if you want answers start reading!

Presented by Dave:

Hi,

My names Dave and I only recently came across your site – I think it’s great and these people need to be stopped. A long while ago I had a problem with a cheap MP4 player and began talking to the seller on Skype, the conversation became very interesting! I’ll let you read!! :

I will say that it is very long, so you don’t have to read all of it, but if you have the time, you can. If not the middle bit is interesing. I might have gotten a bit harsh at times, but they were harsh to me in first place!

The FrankenFlash Project asks the Technology Crime Prevention Unit in Hong Kong to please send inspectors out to investigate. It is suspected that this is one of the major outlets for drop shipping overseas and for eBay seller ids. Sold are fake memory cards, MP Players and also now a very serious wave of fake Kingston DataTraveler 150 usb flash pen sticks in 32GB and 64GB false capacity. The fake DT150’s are causing serious harm to Kingston Technology’s reputation.

The estimated recent fake flash earning’s of XU GANG run is more than £40,000’s . If you wish to add this LEE Wai Bun’s recent Kingston DT150 32GB counterfeiting it is more than £80,000 for over £120,000 and how many victims?

This is only a small fraction of the counterfeit and fake flash nand based technology leaving Hong Kong to harm people around the world. Every day, data loss is pending in these little brown packages, spreading to over 63 different countries on file.

SOSFakeFlash Releases PayPal Telephone Numbers To Help eBay Victims Of Fake Flash USB Flash Drives, MP Players Memory Cards Purchased On eBay

SOSFakeFlash releases telephone numbers for eBay victims filing PayPal claims to call. Many victims are unable to resolve their cases due to the robotic email responders from PayPal being automatically generated with no real intelligence about the case submitted.

wholeselling-auctions Ebay Fake Flash Seller Of MP Player – Memory Card – Usb Flash Drive

wholeselling-auctions is an eBay seller of Counterfeit (Fake) Flash USB drives, MP Players and Memory Cards. Based in Hong Kong wholeselling-auctions is an old fake flash seller, now using private auction listings.

The first documented fake was in June 2008. wholeselling-auctions is very skilled and slippery in selling false capacity items. He knows exactly what he is selling. His dumps in volume. When the heat turns up, he will hide in his fake flash shell, quietly waiting for a new opportunity.

In the fall of 2008 wholeselling-auctions managed to elude SOSFakeFlash and victims by closing his fake flash shop. No alert was ever published, but he was added on the fake flash honour role – the list of eBay fake flash sellers.

Test anything you bought from this seller and make sure you leave immediate feedback! SOSFakeFlash is listing every fake model investigated and even those not yet confirmed. Just recently returned he has already sold more than 3000+ items. He needs to be removed from eBay permenently. Only eBayers can do that. eBay has done nothing for more than one year. Currently he has earned more than $60,000 US.

Please do not let him get away again!

Report in to SOSFakeFlash if your testing confirms you have a false capacity device. Every single item and count is needed. Make sure to raise a dispute with PayPal. If you funded with a credit card, you may wish to contact your credit card company to expidite a refund with a reversal. wholeselling-auctions demonstrates what is wrong with eBay and just how bold fake flash sellers are. Scroll through his feedback and contact positive feedback members – ask them to TEST. If you left positive and have discovered you were sold false capacity – do follow up feedback immediately to alert people to the truth!

Don’t forget to leave the calling card of “SOSFakeFlash” and “H2testw” in your feedback to help others. Do not change your feedback to get a refund – you will only create more victims and it will only allow a fake flash seller to continue, do you really want that?

Call To Victims Of Fake Flash Seller takeme2home – Did You Send Items back To This Address?

leave a comment »

takeme2home is an eBayer seller id that has a long history of trafficking in fake and counterfeit USB Flash Drives, Memory Cards and MP Players. Detected in June 2008 takeme2home was forced into fake flash retirement.

Don of Fake Flash known under the former flag ship id 3totrade was chased from eBay by members. eBayers and SOSFakeFalsh continued round up his other id’s. One by one. He took the takeme2home id out of retirement and pressed into full fake flash selling duties.

SOSFakeFlash was patiently waiting for this id to return and on April 10th, 2009 published this alert:

takeme2home Ebay Fake Flash Seller High Alert – Hong Kong – Another eBay Seller Id Of The Don Of Fake Flash In The Orient

Ebay victims began arriving. Address information received added and linked this suspected id to the Don’s arsenal.

Now victims are going through the usual mindless PayPal emailing robots to return the fake flash items. Some caved in, breaking the postal laws in their countries and sent the items back. Did they get a refund? If you examine feedback, it seems that victims did not. In the past the Don Of Fake Flash flash has pulled similar tricks – a bad return address. He did this with the pengsoloshow ebay seller id. It is very likely he is doing it now with the takeme2home id.

Has PayPal ordered YOU to return the items to this address?

C/O LEE TAT FURNITURE & HOUSEWARE PLAZA
SHOP 3-B G/F TAK BO GARDEN, 3 NGAU TAU KOK ROAD
Hong Kong

Are you a person who sent an item to this address and then had the seller id claim it was never received? Please contact us at sosfakeflashdrive@gmail.com

The original shipping address from Kong Kong was:

Lei Sio Hong

Room 1921, HengFung House,
Heng On Estate,
Shatia, Hongkong

The oringal adddress in China was:

Zhong Lisha(TH)

32B, XiaoFeng Building ,
YouYi Road, Luohu District,
Shenzhen, 518002
Guangdong Province
China

As we have said many times, please do not send fake and counterfeit flash nand technology items back to the counterfeiters. Make sure to get PayPal on record with email evidence demanding this. The fact it they know better, but their email robots don’t.

Please see the recent comments on PayPal, there is more information and contact numbers you can call.

and the general link given to sort out PayPal call numbers. PayPal People are reported to have more good sense these days then their robots.

If you are a victim of takeme2home and you sent the item to the furniture store address and did not get a refund – CALL PAYPAL! Forget about any time window claims, insist on your refund. If you paid by credit card, call the credit card company to initiate a reversal. Make a complaint to eBay as well.

Fake Flash eBay Seller leadingstore Bites The Dust – One More eBay Selling Id Of The Don Of Fake Flash In the Orient Neutralized

leave a comment »

leadingstore an eBay Seller id controlled by the Don of Fake Flash in the Orient has deregistered. No more selling of fake mp players, fake usb flash drives, fake memory cards!

Recently we published: leadingstore Ebay Fake Flash Seller Alert – China – Don Of Fake Flash In The Orient Clings To His Last Remaining eBay Id

At the time SOSFakeFlash thought it was his only remaining id on eBay. There are more still to catch and shut down. Currently takeme2home the focus. This id is dancing nicely away from eBay, PayPal and eBay Victims.

No one will miss leadingstore. However we have a strong suspicion as to why this old id was been retired. The news is dark.

All we can say right now is that current addressing information is needed on all ebay fake flash sellers. We are looking for addresses on envelopes, addresses given to you when a seller wants you to return the item, addresses given by Paypal to return items to and any addresses you find in eBay directories for sellers. If you chose to leave seller addresses on articles you can at the SOSFakeFlash website, provided it is on an Alert for the seller in question – otherwise we ask you sent the information to sosfakeflashdrive@gmail.com (see the report a fake tab at the SOSFakeFlash website).

The Don Of Fake Flash has done enough damage to eBayers, in fact it what started this Project!
