128GB flash drive listed on ebay by joyia55 will corrupt files.

leave a comment »

This flash drive listed on ebay by joyia55 is fake capacity and corrupts files. These are manufactured by fraudsters in China. This seller obviously bought from a fraudulent supplier. How do we know it is fake? Two very obvious pointers:

  1. There is no such thing as a Sony Vaio flash drive – invented by fraudsters!
  2. The leather and steel type of flash drive has never been found to have a real capacity over 4GB.

Never buy a flash drive if either it is the leather and steel type or shows the Sony Vaio name – you are certain to get a fake that trashes your files after a while.

Anyone who bought one of these supposedly 32GB Sony Vaio USB flash drives on ebay from zangly009 will find it corrupts their files after a while. This is because they are fakes manufactured by fraudsters in China and have absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with Sony.

There is no such thing as a genuine Sony Vaio flash drive and any flash drive sold as this is a fake capacity counterfeit programmed to report a false capacity to the operating system. The real capacity of these will be 4GB at the most – and once this is full the file loss and corruption begins.

oasfgtrtr sells fake Sony Vaio flash drives on ebay that will trash files

leave a comment »

There is no such thing as a genuine Sony Vaio flash drive – they are fakes that will corrupt your files. Seller oasfgtrtr is registered on ebay Australia but we have a feeling that this seller and some others who have listed obvious fake flash drives recently may possibly have found ways of registering themselves in a different country from the one they live in.

Ebay has been quite active in suspending new IDs in the far east recently when obvious fakes are listed and now we see listings from IDs regisitered in the EU and Americas worded very much like those from long time fraudsters in the far east.

We’d bet our bottom dollar that these are shipped from the far east not Australia. Perhaps the buyers who bought these fakes could examine the envelopes and leave comments on this post giving the location they were sent from?

Beware: fake Sony Vaio flash drives on ebay from junyingdng85009

leave a comment »

The flash drive in this ebay listing from junyingdng85009 is a fake capacity counterfeit that corrupts files. It is counterfeit because it falsely uses the Sony and Vaio names and it is fake capacity because it can store a lot less than the advertised capacity. Fakes are programmed to report a false capacity to the operating system – but once the real capacity is full – kiss goodbye to your stuff!!

suspended ebay flash fraudster minjianxifu made clumsy attempt to relocate!

leave a comment »

Suspended ebay seller minjianxifu made a clumsy attempt to disguise the location of the fake 64GB Sony Vaio flash drives being sold in this listing by giving the location as Ireland – foolishly the seller (like several others that have tried this trick) then put some Chinese characters after Ireland!!

Of course ebayers can move from one country to another, but somehow we don’t think that someone who registered on ebay China on August 1st immediately jumped on a plane to Ireland (with all his or her worldly goods?) and then listed these obvious fake capacity flash drives on ebay immediately on arrival in Ireland – do you?

fake flash seller yanjiangzheng27 sells fake Sony in private ebay listing

leave a comment »

Anyone who bought the supposedly 64GB flash drive in this private ebay listing from yanjiangzheng27 landed themselves a fake capacity counterfeit USB flash drive that corrupts files. Why is it counterfeit? Because (although not mentioned in the listing) the flash drive in the picture is marked with the name Sony. Sony has absolutely no connection with these flash drives and it is a criminal offence to sell an item bearing a brand name such as Sony or Kingston if it is not sold by that company. This is a form of fraud normally called counterfeiting.

Selling items that are not as described is also a form of fraud. This flash drive is advertised as having a capacity of 64GB. We are certain that anyone who tests one of these with h2testw will find that the capacity is a lot less than 64GB. The real capacity is unlikely to be as much as 4GB. Therefore the item is not as described, so we consider this listing fraudulent on another count.

Anyone aware of the true cost of flash memory would know that you are extremely unlikely to be able to buy a genuine flash drive above 8GB capacity for £14.99 ANYWHERE. If you bought one of these you landed yourself with a fake capacity USB flash drive that corrupts files and a big fight to get a refund!

We advise everyone who buys flash memory items to test them with the free program h2testw irrespective of where they were purchased – otherwise you run the risk of data loss and corruption.

Despite their claims of buyer protection ebay and paypal seem to do all they can to avoid refunding defrauded buyers.
