The 256GB Kingston DataTraveler 310 flash drives sold on ebay by jingpinstore89 are too cheap to be anything other than fake capacity counterfeits. Anyone who bought one of these USB flash drives will find that it corrupts their files after a while.

We advise everyone who buys flash memory items to test them with the free program h2testw irrespective of where they were purchased – otherwise you run the risk of data loss and corruption.

fake Sony Vaio flash drives on ebay from shitingyuan7776

The only Sony Vaio flash drive that exists is a fake that corrupts files – Sony do not use the Vaio name for flash drives. Anyone who bought one of these USB flash drives on ebay from shitingyuan7776 will find it corrupts their files because the capacity reported by the computer operating system is fake (due to fraudulent programming) and once the real capacity (no doubt less than 4GB) has been filled there is nowhere for files to go.

We advise everyone who buys flash memory items to test them with the free program h2testw irrespective of where they were purchased – otherwise you run the risk of data loss and corruption.

32GB Kingston flash drives from ebayer blackbriar_tech seem too cheap

leave a comment »

The 32GB Kingston DataTraveler 200 flash drives in this ebay listing from blackbriar_tech seem a little too cheap to us. This makes us wonder if this seller made the mistake of buying from one of the many fraudulent wholesale outlets selling fake capacity counterfeits. Buyers can check whether their Kingston flash drive is genuine or not by using Kingston’s serial number verification system. If the serial number cannot be verified by Kingston then the flash drive is a fake capacity counterfeit that corrupts files.

We advise everyone who buys flash memory items to test them with the free program h2testw irrespective of where they were purchased – otherwise you run the risk of data loss and corruption.

Top rated ebay seller gosourcing looks like a fake flash fraudster to us

leave a comment »

Top rated ebay seller gosourcing (member since 25-Mar-10 in Hong Kong) gives the location of the 16GB Sandisk Ultra Backup flash drives in this ebay listing as London, UK. Somehow we don’t think so!! We think this seller’s items are exactly where gosourcing is – in China, the source of fake flash memory items! We are sure that any USB flash drives sold by gosourcing will be as fake as the item location in this ebay listing.

Any fake capacity counterfeit USB flash drive (or any other fake capacity flash memory item) corrupts files after a while – once the real capacity (much smaller than advertised) is full there is nowhere for files to go.

There are a few lessons for ebay buyers here:

  1. Don’t be misled by the fact that someone is a top rated seller; lots of fraudsters are.
  2. Always check seller feedback thoroughly; don’t just go by the general feedback score.
  3. Check that item location & seller location match; if not, the seller is probably fraudulent.
  4. Beware if flash memory items seem to be bargain price – they may well be fakes.

We advise everyone who buys flash memory items to test them with the free program h2testw irrespective of where they were purchased – otherwise you run the risk of data loss and corruption.
