256GB DT310 flash drive on ebay from rapidselluk* too cheap

with 2 comments

We think this 256GB Kingston DataTraveler 310 flash drive listed on ebay by rapidselluk* is pretty certain to be a fake capacity counterfeit that corrupts files. The price it too low for it to be genuine. Kingston DT310 flash drives have serial numbers that can be verified with Kingston to ensure the drive is genuine. We don’t think Kingston will be able to verify that this flash drive is genuine.

We advise everyone who buys flash memory items to test them with the free program h2testw irrespective of where they were purchased – otherwise you run the risk of data loss and corruption.

Report your fake if testing confirms you have purchased fake capacity flash memory on ebay.

  1. Hmm – exacly what brought you to this blog Nathan?

The post related to a specific 265GB Kingston flash drive the seller listed back in September 2010. Back then there were huge numbers of counterfeits of this particular model being sold by wholesalers in China to ebay sellers. Some of those who were involved in this and other blogs about the issue were actually ebay sellers who were caught out by fraudulent wholesalers in China.

As it happens it seems that rapidsell* did not in fact sell any of these – just as well for the him/her as we were certain they were fakes. Your only apparent purchase of a flash drive from rapidsell* seems to have been an entirely different (not Kingston) 64GB model in April 2011 – indeed this seems to be the only feedback comment you have had since joining Ebay.

Strange, since you apparently purchased a pair of jeans from rapidsell* in February 2010 and left the seller glowing feedback, unlike another buyer whose comment was somewhat less than glowing. Wonder why rapidsell* did not reciprocate the glowing feedback you gave about the jeans?

This blog (in case you handn’t noticed) has been pretty well defunct for some considerable time. However your comment has almost made me curious enough to consider purchasing a flash drive from rapidsell* (or prompting one of the others in our now defunct team to do so) and checking it out. Sorry. but your comment seems rather suspicious…
